The work is considered the greatest book ever written, I found this translation very approachable and fun. Perhaps no other character in literature is more universal than Don Quixote. The quixotic adventurer literally runs after his dreams as many of us would wish to do.

I love the bit where they're deciding which of Don Quixote's books to burn, but keep putting them back on the shelf because they admit to liking Ariosto and Boiardo and the like. Kindred spirits. Simon Pegg stole the bit almost 400 years later, tossing his vinyl record collection.

È con un cuore un po’ più pesante oggi che chiudo questo libro per l’ultima volta. Mi sono inevitabilmente affezionata a Don Chisciotte e Sancio. Ho letto le loro avventure ogni giorno in pausa pranzo per tre mesi ormai e faranno sempre parte di questo strano periodo della mia vita, sola in Germania.
Ho amato vedere come i singoli personaggi si sviluppano nel corso della storia. Ho testimoniato con emozione il rafforzarsi del rapporto tra Don Chisciotte e Sancio, non come cavaliere e scudiero, ma come amici. Ho ammirato il sincero affetto che Sancio prova nei confronti del suo grigio, amato asinello. E, infine, queste 5 mila stelle a Cervantes per avermi fatto ridere a distanza di secoli❤️
