This book was fantastic. It discussed consumerism through an environmental lens, but didn’t feel all doom and gloom like so many others. It focused on real world examples from around the world that communities are doing to help. It also focuses on recentering communities around each other, instead of consumerism. Truly wonderful.

While interesting, I don't know if it was quite what I was expecting. Perhaps I'm already quite a low consumer but serval of the books points seemed a bit duh to me but there were also times it blew my mind at how ridiculous some people are when it came to buying stuff. Overall interesting but a bit of a bummer that it ends with "basically you can't do anything beyond an individual level but if we did pull it off as a society wouldn't that be great"

This is an important book not just our time now but even looking back at the past.

This book was an interesting one, I expected to leave it feeling hopeful for the future but it did not.
It was a very realistic way to see things and frustating at the same time knowing that we have things we could be doing but ultimately the future of the planet depends on goverments and big corporations.
I identify with the style of shopping less, so it was interesting.

Great book, great audiobook. Not preachy, somehow. Great writer.
