Volume 3 of TG : Re is focused on the Auction Raid where multiple CCG squads are fighting strong Ghouls from Aogiri Tree. I feel like Ishida brings up a cocky new character, gives him a name, rank and all that, then proceeds to kill them in the subsequent chapter. And I'd be like why did I bother remembering that name -_- But besides that, all the fight scenes are so clear, I can actually see the moves lol.

******SPOILERS AHEAD******

Coming to the fights I enjoyed, I really liked how Shirazu and Saiko, were able to think strategically and beat Nutcracker, I admit I was pretty surprised at that. As usual, Urie boy annoys me, he almost lost his life this time but somehow managed to go on a Ghoul rampage. But I have a strong feeling that he's going to go wild, and then probably he'll learn to control his powers and respect Haise for God's sake!!

The best part of this Volume was obviously the fight between Takizawa The Ghoul and Haise The Ghoul Investigator, I love how the tables have turned. Takizawa had nothing to add as an Investigator but here, every panel he's zoomed in on gives me the scare. He's ruthless, strong but his eating style though..

Initially I felt, Kaneki would arrive but to my surprise this happened

Even if he's hollow, even if he doesn't know of me, If a container for his soul exists nowhere else, then I will protect this person. I won't let you fight alone, anymore ~ Hinami

Haise was getting beaten up black and blue with no backup from CCG and she arrives to save her Onii-Chan. While she's fighting hard to protect him, he says this

Please go, because I'm no longer the person that you knew. My body is Kaneki Ken but I'm Sasasi Haise. But for Kaneki-kun to be thought of like this, he must have certainly been a wonderful person. So, even if I disappear, give me the power to protect ~ Haise

These two lines hit me right in the feels!! And my absolute favorite panel from this volume!

While Kaneki Ken still didn't appear, Haise is taking baby steps towards embracing Kaneki. I wonder why he always meets his previous forms' mini-version? Haise might appear sane and sorted but building a completely new personality and suppressing everything that was once you, is never in your best interest. So I'm glad that he took his first step towards embracing the real him..

I enjoyed this Volume a lot, especially due to Haise's inner conflict. But the reason I take away a star is due to the jumps, at the end of every chapter I had to recollect who's fighting whom, who's dead and what not, otherwise a really solid volume.

I thought I loved the characters in Tokyo Ghoul, but reading the characters in Re, both old and new, has only deepened my care for them; this is one of the many reasons why I like following lengthy series or volumes. Ishida does an admirable job in weaving together the intricacy of the plot and the uniqueness of each of the characters - in such a way, that one does not overshadow the other.

Haise Sasaki, the man you are. Those pin-stripe suits look so good on my man.

It pains me to say this, but I'm officially dropping this series. I'm not enjoying it as much as the first one and seeing as this series is 16 volumes long, I'm not forcing myself to read 13 more volumes of something I'm not enjoying. That's not to say this series is bad, I'm not saying that at all, and I think this is overall a great series. But I can't deny that these last three volumes have been a slog of too long fight scenes, way too many characters I don't give a shit about, and frustrating transitions/shifting perspectives. If you want to continue with it, I encourage you to do so because I think this is a good series, but I'm calling it quits.
