I am well aware that trauma changes the brain. I’m a person who has faced their own trauma in life -but everything Brianna did in the last third is completely inexcusable. She was beyond cruel and quite frankly how Jacob handled the way she treated him has me worried for his wellbeing.
I’m so disappointed that this book ruined everything it had built and destroyed its own story. A single book should not manage to jump the shark like this.

“I always think that when we’re quiet, we’re agreeing to be harmless to each other. That we’re just sharing the same space and letting each other exist exactly as we are, and neither of us would hurt or upset the other one.”
I tend to enjoy Abby Jimenez' writing, and I have been looking forward to this sequel ever since I read Part Of Your World a little over a year ago. There was something about Briana's character that made me want to spend more time with her, and I fully expected this story to be another winner... And I have to say that I enjoyed Yours Truly even more than the first book! This has a lot to do with both Jacob and the epistolary element; I ADORED the letters and messages between the two main characters. The story is told with a dual POV structure, which is a great way to get both sides of the story. I loved Jacob so much more than Briana, and his social anxiety is very well described. Briana could get a bit frustrating at times, and I can't say that I was a big fan of the whole miscommunication trope. Especially when it was SO obvious how the two felt about each other... This was probably the only reason I didn't give Yours Truly the full five stars, because there was just too much unnecessary conflict. I still loved the book in general though, and even the sexy scenes towards the ending couldn't change my feelings. Make sure to have some tissues at hand, because the final part will make it hard to keep it dry! This story has once again shown to me why Abby Jimenez is on my list of favorite romance authors, and I already can't wait for her next book.

I did think it got a bit long winded around the 300 page mark with the established classic rom-com theme of misunderstanding because no one is communicating properly. But it’s worth pushing through! this book is a sweet, beautiful, heartwarming, and has a happy ending!

Oh my god????? This is my first Abby Jimenez book and it was saurrrr good I devoured it in a day!!!! Jimenez’s writing just captivated me from beginning to end.
The social anxiety representation made me feel validated and seen as Jacob shared his experiences because I related to him a lot. The overthinking, the overanalyzing, and the constant worrying takes a huge toll on me I wish I could shut my brain off forever. Being in his shoes, it gave me comfort that Jacob was surrounded by people who love and understand him.
I love Briana so much. She’s so kind and loving and caring. She carries so much weight on her shoulders and thankfully she has Alexis and Jacob to help her carry the burden. I want to wrap her in the fluffiest blanket and watch Schitt’s Creek with her (I haven’t watched it btw).
Briana and Jacob’s relationship was so beautiful I love them both so much. I’m obsessed with their cute little letter exchanges and they had me giggling as I read them. I did not know this was fake dating so imagine my surprise and delight when I found out it was. I’m a sucker for this trope because the angst it gives????? *CHEF’S KISS*

Then one day a letter appears for her from none other than Jacob. Se begins to learn more about him and suspects that he may be a better person than she had harshly judged him to be. That is confirmed when he finds out he is a donor match for Bri's brother and wants to anonymously donate. He doesn't want the attention it will bring just to ease Bri's troubles in any way he can. Even though Bri wasn't supposed to know she finds out who the donor is and is so appreciative of this she agrees to be his date to his brother and ex girlfriends wedding.
As they get to know each other through their fake dating charade they begin to understand that maybe its not a charade anymore.
