Honestly, it got a little bit too thick for me towards the middle and I was really busy with other things in my life so it put me in a little bit of a slump. I do really love the characters but I think if it was atleast 100 pages shorter I would've liked it more. However, I do still like the way Matthew Reilly tells a story.

Shane Schofield returns in another thriller where a regular mission becomes a high stakes game of life and death. Deep in the desert at a remote airforce base, Schofield arrives with the President of USA on a routine inspection. However, the welcoming committee was far from friendly and thus begins a fight for survival. As with other Matthew Reilly novels, who will survive and who will die?

The second Shane Schofield novel had high hopes to live up to after Ice Station and believe me it delivered. The action never stops and the storyline often feels like a plot roller coaster! Although this is the second novel, it could also be read as a standalone with the brief reintroductions of characters providing enough detail to understand the story. The return of characters gives you more insight into their lives with relationship details providing a balm in between the scenes of fighting.

Un altre llibre d'acció, una altre peli d'acció de les bones llegida i gaudida! No esperis res més que entreteniment en aquesta saga. Seu, obre el llibre i gaudeix, no pensis, simplement gaudeix.

Unrealistic, and unbelievable, but so much fun. The books are works of fiction. Sit back, read, enjoy, and lose yourself in the adventure.
