Somewhat of a disappointment. This story wasn't half as good as Reilly's first book, Ice Station. However, I noticed a lot of similarities between Area 7 and Ice Station which likely therefore didn't make for much excitement for me. Like Ice Station, the setting takes place in a secret underground multi-story facility. There is a bunch of gun battles and fighting between the good guys and the mercenaries. And, everyone is out to obtain or protect a secret prized possession hidden within the depths of the facility. Throw the President of the United States into the mix and you have another whirlwind action sequence thriller that never seems to end, but seemingly gets lost in a bunch of grenades, bullets, and explosives.

It was an absolute roller-coaster of an action/adventure thriller and I LOVED it. It was fast-paced, action-packed, and over the top - just what I wanted from the book - and I couldn't put it down!

I'm just gutted I'm going to have to wait til payday to buy the next one

Exciting, if you can suspend all belief. The action sequences are way over the top and make even James Bond films look pedestrian. Schofield can do ANYTHING imaginable, it seems. The South African stereotype baddies are just too passé, their characters too flat. If you love Rambo, then this might be for you ;-)

Not as good as Ice Station but still every bit as action packed. All the characters were still as amazing as always, even more so with getting more in depth with their characters. I loved the addition of Book 2 and his wariness towards Scarecrow.

I even ended up loving the romantic relationship, it was very, very sweet.

The thing that let me down here was the ridiculousness of the whole plot. Caesar was very Disney villain to me, with the whole game thing. It was all a little extra. Then the space mission? Really? It was like the book was trying too hard to be bigger and better than Ice Station.

I don’t think I’ll re-read this book (also presidential stuff is super uninteresting for me) but I will continue the series. Scarecrow and Mother and Fox are too awesome to let go just yet.

Forever glad the bears survived.

Another really good book in this series, really enjoyed the action and fast pace of this book. It was tence and it was a close shave for the team a few times. Scarecrow is a great leader and an amazing character. I also hope that the romance between him and gant continues into the series.
