In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.
As a person interested in how the human mind operates, this book was great. Listened to it in audiobook format.
Pros: Presented data-backed conclusions with a firm stance, not dumping on the opposition but simply showing what the experiments say. Provided pointers and actionable information for the reader on how to utilize the newfound information.
Cons: Had kind of a weird 'get rich like this one guy' segment about halfway through, bit of a tonal shift. The lessons applied were valid, but that one sequence was deeply financially focused while almost everything else in the book is not.
All in all, an applicable collection of methods and processes that encourage the retention of information. If you or someone you know is having trouble learning/studying, this book is a solid start.
Will read again, take notes, and develop flash cards based off this book.

The anecdotes were only sometimes relevant, and made their points harder to understand as you'd get lost in the tangent. Practically, this book is difficult to get much from

This is a great book for anyone looking to improve their learning style and discover more effective ways to learn. I found the examples provided in each chapter very interesting and helpful in illustrating the key concepts. However, I felt that the final chapter contained a bit too much repetition of earlier material and included more examples than necessary. Overall, it’s an insightful and practical read.

immediate thoughts: lots to digest, accessible writing style, lots of repetition (for good reason), i was introduced to a lot of new information and it has made me strongly reconsider my approach to study - but have i learned anything? we shall see. i need time to apply the learnings first and see if it has, indeed, been able to stick. heh.
