Just completely insane. Truly a psychedelic trip of a book and most of the time I had no idea what was happening but I had fun!

i seem to enjoy it more with every reread ...
I once tried to watch the movie and gave up because i didn't understand anything that was happening, and I almost did the same with this book. It took me so long to catch on and I was so confused, the language kept escaping me and I felt like I wasnt actually reading any of the words on the page and then I got to Part Four: Abyss.
Frank's death really struck me, it was very macabre and unnerving and it was the first bit where I knew with 100% certainty what happened. It was all kind of downhill from there but Bowman's journey was pretty extraordinary to read.
Anything I was confused about (mainly TMA-1, and also Floyd, and also the man-apes in general) was clarified by the end of the novel, star-gate kind of let everything click for me and it was so so joyous when it did!
Honestly so impressed with Clarke for this, and kudos to Kubrick as well.
