A space baby stops nuclear apocalypse after a lonely man travels to a very large paper weight. 4/5 would recommend.
self-indulgent and too obviously wanting to say something the film doesn’t, regardless of his relationship with Kubrick. not indicative of lack of writing ability, but certainly must call out the lack of story or characters, the failure to ground a human story or even elevate one, and for all the hard science it struts there are many obviously glaring inadequacies and failings where research and imagination are concerned even with empirical data and evidence to assist. I am hesitant to call this one bad because it’s not. But it is not, subjectively, good.

'But the barriers of distance are crumbling; one day we shall meet our equals, or our masters, among the stars.'
This is good science fiction, despite its age. Similarly to Contact, the first three quarters of this book were amazing, but the ending isn't quite so polished.
