I was offered the opportunity to read Perfect Deke as an ARC read. Let me start by saying I am usually a Fantasy and Dark Romance ARC/Beta reader so this book was not on my radar. With that being said it was delicious!! I devoured the book in one sitting and now I’m impatiently waiting for more in the series. I love hockey in real life and in books so this was an easy read to get on board with. The spice scenes were hot and well written into the story. The story flows so smooth and there were no plot points let unfilled.

Jack is such a Golden Retriever Boyfriend when it comes to Kendra and I ate that shit up!! Like that man is so down bad for her I want my own Jack Morgan!!
Kendra is a very independent woman that is handed a bad hand in her situation but still tries to figure it out without help. Along comes Jack and for the most part that goes out the window and Jack shows her what it’s like to be truly loved by your partner.

In my opinion for a Hockey Romance book this book was 5⭐️!! I can’t wait for Sawyers book either!!!

Bored. Spice was pretty good but the plot was blah.
NHL guy Jack has beef with a guy on his new team, Tyler, that he also played with in college. Beef was because he liked the guy’s girlfriend, Kendra, and Tyler was a douche to her. 4 years later and Kendra dumps Tyler and her apartment is condemned for asbestos so Jack offers her a room in his house to be nice. They obviously fall for eachother quickly and the 3rd act conflict is when Tyler sends Kendra a screenshot of texts Jack had sent other guys 3 years prior about wanting to fuck her so she flies home to Ohio for space. Literally he was 19 at the time and you weren’t even friends then why are you being such a baby.  He leaves his series of games to go to Ohio and get her back and that’s basically the end of it.

When should you stop highlighting a book? I think I fangirled over the writing style and this story so much that if I had read the book in physical form instead of as an ebook it would have ended up unreadable... I loved following Jack and Kendra's story. These two are just made for each other and discovering their story just made me smile from the beginning to the end. (We can also mention the moment when I stamped my foot in excitement so hard that I made my nightstand shake and knocked over my cup full of tea...) This book is simply fantastic!
