This was amazing! Such a great start to the series that I clicked with immediately. I felt much more initially connected to the story than The Lost Hero (and Lost Hero was still super enjoyable!). I love Lester and I loved his progression throughout, his development really motivates you to read.

The line, “‘I don’t like being kept in the dark,’ he (Nico) muttered.
An odd complaint for a child of Hades” broke my heart. I read this book in a few days and with my fresh memory that was the line that stuck with me most. Ow.

I loved the focus on the campers and the expansion of the side characters! That was fun to see. Overall, loved this instalment in the series so much.

A fairly decent beginning to the Trials of Apollo series. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but the story didn't really grab me as much as something like The Lightning Thief or The Lost Hero. Also, why does Rick do these cliffhangers??😭 It makes me want to ignore my TBR completely and pick up the next book!
