Rick Riordan still has it.
This is the 12th book of his that I’ve read and you’d think they’d start getting less interesting by now, but the opposite is true. Seeing Apollo in this different light, seeing him build his character and deepening throughout the story is amazing. His connection to Meg, though short-lived, is so sincere.
Familiar names popping up throughout the story are nice nods to the previous books for fans.
Will and Nico’s relationship furthering is so refreshing! The representation in this book is so nice. (I will always picture Apollo as a black kid, don’t @ me.) Also, can I get a round of applause for a bisexual (possibly pansexual?) character narrating the whole entire book?? The devil works hard but Rick Riordan WORKS HARDER.
Leo coming back at the end of the book has me SHOOK. Holy shit. I was in tears. Leo is my favorite character in Heroes Of Olympus, and him returning like this? It was so unexpected and so, so, SO RIGHT. I can’t wait to read the next book and see even more of my favorite Valdez.
That’s about it! I loved this book, 4 stars serves it right!

Apollo is such a funny narrator i swear i was cackling at his remarks and jokes
Seeing Leo at the end was the highlight of my day and just seeing Nico and Will throughout the books really made everything better!

Overall the plot of the book is interesting, not my favorite but I liked the fact that Apollo is getting more human and experienced human feelings it’s so good
But honestly, Meg’s treason was very predictable and I didn’t really cared for her character (even Chiara was more lovable in my eyes)

Can’t wait to see the quest of the next book
