. I really liked this book. It was funny and very entertaining. I do feel like Olivia could have had a bit more of a backbone. But I gues in a way she was a bit naive and inexperienced when it came to relationships let a lone dating a royal. I LOVED Nick even though I do feel like he thought about SEX ALOT. But in the end he came to his senses. Also HENRY was amazing I can not wait to read his story! This is my first book by this author can not wait to try out more.

Cute fluff.

Very much the prince and me vibes but with steam.

5 ROYAL CROWNS

I am in love! I love Prince Nicholas. I love Olivia. I love their story. I love their writing. There is not one aspect of this story that did not make my heart melt or leave me with warm tingly feelings. It is complete romance perfection!

The two main characters, Olivia and Nicholas, are lovely and make the story everything that it is. Watching them fall for each other, seeing the chemistry spark emotionally with their banter and easy acceptance of each other, as well as in the bedroom leads the reader to become enthralled with their status as a couple. These two make each other better, freer, giving each other permission to be more like who they are versus who the world has told them they need to be.

But more importantly, the reader becomes invested in these two as a couple because the reader loves them as individuals. Olivia is a sympathetic character because of all the obstacles she is facing, and she attacks these challenges head on without faltering. Her fortitude in battling the many adversities that have plagued her life not only makes the reader sympathize with her but also revere her for her dedication to her family, particularly her sister. The reader wants her to have fun and enjoy her fling with Nicholas, and as the novel progresses, and we see them together, the reader wants it to be more.

Nicholas is a hero I have come to expect from Emma Chase. He is honorable, funny, romantic, and so incredibly sexy! Everything from his words to his actions showcases that he is a good guy, and even when he makes some choices the reader isn’t happy with, it is easy to understand his choices based on the characterization created by the author. His humor and lightness with Olivia draws the reader to him as a character, and his vibrancy for life is addictive, even through the pages. And, finally, the moves in the bedroom are top notch, but not over the top. It is clear that Nicholas knows what he is doing in the bedroom, but I love that the physical relationship between them is authentic. These two together just absolutely shine, and the reader finds himself/herself emotional invested in the outcome of these two people.img_7609

In addition to the two main characters, I absolutely adore the secondary characters. Everyone from the pie eating Simon, to bubble bath Franny, to the wild and crazy Prince Henry are all wildly entertaining, and I enjoy all the comedy they bring to this romance. Emma Chase also does an excellent job introducing the reader to Henry and setting up her next book Royally Matched, as I already love his sense of humor, and the author has already begun to establish him as a sympathetic character. I already want a HEA for this character, and I haven’t even gotten his full story. Finally, the cameo of two characters from her previous series, The Legal Briefs series, is amazing! I absolutely love getting to see old characters, even if it is only for a chapter, and seeing Brent and Kennedy was like visiting with old friends.

The plot of this story is perfectly paced and well-balanced concoction of comedy, romance, and steam. The relationship between the two is developed perfectly, resulting in an authenticity between the two main characters that doesn’t seemed rushed. Yet, it moves along quickly enough that I am engaged with the couple progression from page one. The plot provides some many instances of comedy. Readers will find themselves laughing out loud and smiling unknowingly at their book. The banter and the back and forth, and pretty much any moment with Franny, will have the reader laughing as the witness love unfurl. Although the conflict and resolution of the story are predictable, Emma Chase’s story and characters are so unique that it doesn’t matter to me. It still hurt my heart and gutted my soul to see them fall apart, and the resolution still made my heart flutter at the grand gesture and the romance that results. And that epilogue will seriously have you smiling like a mad person. Truly, a well-paced, entertaining read.

Royally Screwed has done nothing but solidify that Emma Chase is romance royalty. Time after time, she delivers entertaining romances that hit readers in the heart and showcase all the best aspects of love, and the Royal series is no different. This entertaining and endearing romance must absolutely find a place on your bookshelf!

Yes, this book is full of clichés and is definitely predicable. BUT, that does not mean I enjoyed it any less. This book was full of fun, humor, drama, heart, and some wonderful surprises.

I listened to the audio book. This was a very enjoyable story and I liked the H/h. I really liked the narrator.

5 Brilliant Stars!!!

“Fame is a strange thing. A powerful thing. Usually it ebbs and flows like a tide. People get swept up in it, swamped by it, but eventually the notoriety recedes, and the former object of its affection is reduced to someone who used to be someone, but isn’t anymore.”

“Nicholas presses his mouth against mine. Possessively. Boldly. Like he owns me. And in this moment he does.”

“The downside of responsibility and duty is that it gives you tunnel vision–you don’t see the big picture, the options, because the options were never yours to have. You see only the track that you’re locked onto, the one that takes you through the tunnel. But every once in a while, even the most dependable trains jump their track.”

I absolutely loved and adored this book. This book is exactly what a modern fairy tale should be. I fell in love with the characters and the story-line instantly and could not put it down. I actually had to force myself to slow down and savor this book; it was that good.

Royally Screwed pulled me in from the very first page and showed a very realistic look into what it would be like to live the life of a royal. Where despite the fact that you’d love to do what your heart desires, there is a conflict, duty before your own wishes. Where making the right decision is not always an easy task….

Prince Nicholas was everything you could ask for in a royal and more. He’s sexy, cocky, and confident. He is used to always getting his way and what he wants. And Olivia is about to give him a run for his money. Olivia and Nicholas couldn’t have come from more different backgrounds, and I think that is one of the things that intrigued Nicholas. Olivia was hardworking, loyal and sacrificed so much for her family, proving once again, just how different she was from the girls Nicholas was used to. However, Nicholas didn’t make the best first impression and even though he stuck his royal foot in his mouth and should have left well enough alone, he couldn’t get Olivia out of his head. She was just so different from all the other girls. She didn’t want a piece of him because he was royal and she didn’t bend at his will. She was sweet and honest. She was exactly what he needed. And let me tell you, the chemistry between these two was intense. You could feel the sparks almost jumping off the pages. I couldn’t get enough of the two of them and couldn’t wait to see how their story would end.

Royally Screwed is incredibly well written and is probably my favorite “royalty” story that I’ve read to date. This story was so much more than I expected. It took my heart and just ran away with it. The characters and story-line were just so much fun, it was impossible to not get caught up in the story and just fall in love. Royally Screwed was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of humor, angst, drama, romance and swoon worthy moments.

I think this series is off to one amazing start and I can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.
