La voz de los narradores y su interpretación son lo mejor de este libro. Es una buena propuesta que se desarrolla bien, aunque le va faltando fuerza en algunos puntos de la historia. En general me ha gustado pero no será uno que me vuelva a leer (escuchar).
Cute book - had a little bit of steam, too. But I'm not over the moon for it.
Emma Chase is an auto buy author for me anyway, but when I heard she was writing a brand new series, I felt a rush of excitement when I 1-clicked. Royally Screwed is the charming first book in the Royally series.
I don’t care how old I get, I never outgrow my love for a good Cinderella story. Olivia is a poor New Yorker struggling to keep her family’s coffee shop afloat singlehandedly. Nicholas is the heir to the throne of Wessco and accustomed to getting whatever he wants. When he stumbles into Olivia’s café while in NYC on business, he’s drawn to her feistiness and he likes that she’s unaffected by his charms or his position. Olivia is a breath of fresh air in Nicholas’s life that is weighed down by responsibilities and people wanting to use him. Olivia unexpectedly gets swept up in a fairy tale love affair with the irresistible prince, and the whole world is watching their every move.
I was looking forward to the drama Nicholas’s relationship with a commoner would cause. However, the reactions of the Queen, and the people in his royal social circle, and the public in general are largely glossed over. There are a couple issues that quickly arise and are just as quickly resolved. I would have appreciated a tad more conflict.
That said, I really enjoyed the flow and fantasy of their romance. It’s sweet but also has some heat, and the supporting characters are fun. If you start Royally Screwed with the expectation that it will be a lighthearted, amusing, drama free story you should be pleasantly entertained. The blurb for the next book, [b:Royally Matched|29991718|Royally Matched (Royally, #2)|Emma Chase|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1473345329s/29991718.jpg|50395228], sounds really good. I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Nicholas’s bad boy brother, Henry, gets into.

Thank you SJ for recommending this book to me. This was an amazing read. I thought it was witty, heartwarming, and romantic. It is a story about an average working class American girl falling in love with the Crown Prince of Wessco. I loved every minute of the book. The major reason for me was the hero and heroine of the story. They made the book for me.
Prince Nicholas is the Crown Prince of Wessco. He is also the first in line for the throne and being King of his country. He is given an ultimatum by his grandmother, the Queen, that he has to announce the name of the woman that he wants to marry at the end of Summer. Also, he has to go to New York to try and find his younger brother, Prince Henry, while fulfilling some of his duties as Prince. It is in New York where he meets and falls madly in love with Olivia Hammond. I love story like this one because the hero goes from wanting to have several flings to wanting to be with one woman. Words to describe Nicholas: loving, passionate, sexy, and confident.
Olivia Hammond is an average girl trying to keep the family coffee shop and bakery open, while dealing with the bills. Her world turns upside down one snowy afternoon when a drunk Nicholas walks into the bakery. He in his super drunk state, says something offensive comments which leads to Olivia throwing an Apple pie in his face. He then started to come around often and she starts to fall in love. She found love in the most unexpected way. I guess that is why we should never give up on the unexpected. Life can lead you down mysterious ways to find what you need in life. Words to describe Olivia: sassy, humble, sweet, loving, and witty.
I thought this book was delightful read. It is told in alternating POVs between Olivia and Nicholas. This book was a modern retelling of Cinderella, and it had the perfect fairytale ending. This book was full of passionate and addictive scenes. It is now one of my all-time favourites. I can't wait to read Henry's book, Royally Matched. Overall, an incredible read.

Thought this was a super cute take on the fantasy romance of a royal falling in love with a commoner, and how they deal with it when reality gets in the way. Nicholas was sexy and hot with his dirty talk, and Olivia was sweet and honest, and I thought a good foil for him. I appreciated the NYC scenes and the portrayal of how difficult it was for Nicholas to try to do normal dating things without fans and paparazzi everywhere, and also the ugly underbelly of the Wessco upper crust society once they traveled back to Nicholas’ country. Wasn’t sure that I cared for his brother at first, but by the end of the book it had me looking forward to reading his story. Really enjoyed this take on a royalty romance, and thought it was a great kickoff to the series.
One of the better fictional royal stories I’ve read!
This was so great, I loved it! The perfect mix of banter, chemistry and yummy Royal hotness! I'm so happy that there will be 2 other books in the series. Very much looking forward to Henry's book!

Nicholas, Crowned Prince of Wessco is a man bound by his duty to his country and, when he’s informed he must choose a bride and then sent to New York to bring his younger brother back home, he decides to make the most of the time he’s got left.
Olivia Hammond is a hardworking, no-nonsense young woman, with way too many responsibilities to follow up on celebrities or jet setters and has no clue whatsoever who the handsome, arrogant and very rude Nicholas is at first and treats him like she would any other creep…literally.
This is my second take on this review, because I don’t feel I did this book justice the first time.
I think this story is Cinderella meets Coming to America in some way. While Olivia is broke, tending to the shop and keeping her family together, Nicholas is desperately trying to grasp at the remnants of his freedom by having one last fling. They both feel trapped by their circumstances and, when something starts developing between them, they want to hold on to it for as long as their lives will allow, taking the chance to spend what little time he has left together.
“Some people go their whole lives without feeling that. We’ll get to have it for four months.”
This book had me laughing out loud with Nicholas’ arrogant charm and directness and the banter between him and Olivia. I adored the fact that this is a woman who never lets him have his way just because he’s a prince, but cares about the person he is and shows it every step of the way. It also made me cry when their time together is coming to an end and Nicholas starts to panic, every time he thinks he’s lost her and the hardships to make the right decision.
IMO, Royally Screwed is a book that has no waste. It has great writing at a fluid pace, it’s sexy, heartfelt and romantic. The perfect modern fairy tale, threading elements of real life and timeless tales to give us an amazing love story, one I think no one should miss and which I’d love to watch on the screen. ;-)
