Nick his royal hotness and Liv the lady with the pie he can't resist ; )
Loved this one all the way. I can depend on this author to not abuse my intelligence with stupid misunderstandings that drag down my joy in the book. Not that there isn't a misunderstanding, (and it's a doozy!) but it made sense and was resolved in an OTT fabulously romantic way. That was the ending, now the rest of it;
Nick has been given 3 months before he MUST marry from a set list of royally acceptable women. So he takes off to NY with a buddy to drink himself into oblivion. Of course he wasn't expecting to get a pie in the face during a snowstorm while enjoying his drinking binge. But hey, he totally deserved it!
And thus begins the romance of the pie shop owner and the prince. He is prince of some small made up place probably around Wales.
There is an OW but. The author is good at making some characters seem bad then giving you more info on them... making the side characters just as interesting as the MCs. I guess the author was trying to show the reader that being rich and famous isn't all it's cracked up to be. Maybe, maybe not ; )
Honestly did not see that ending coming!
And I usually don't like royalty romances.
Listened to this on audio and there are two readers, Andi Ardnt and Shane East. Both were terrific, doing a lovely pseudo Scottish accent for the prince and some decent Brooklyn accents for some of the Americans (but not Liv thank goodness!). Mr. East's voice for the prince was dead sexy!

she is firmly in his past (when they were 17), but not above trying to make Liv jealous. It isn't overdone.Honestly did not see that ending coming!

'No. I don't have to try... it just sort of happens.'"
It's fitting that my first book of the year should be a fluffy, steamy romance novel. Honestly, what better way to kick off 2017? Needless to say, this was so much fun. It's every girl's fantasy rolled gorgeously into a wonderful package of fun banter and sexytimes.

Very much enjoyed.

I have read a few Emma Chase books in the past.
This was actually one of my most anticipated reads of 2016.
…which then led me to read sooo many bad royalty/Prince falls in love with regular girl books. By the time I got to this one I was kind of tired with the trope.
It was well written however, I liked the characters, and the sex was steamy.
This also went the way I would actually expect this relationship to go in real life, as opposed to all the other one’s where the regular girl was able to become Queen damn the centuries old laws and traditions.
I liked this and would recommend it to someone else.
The reason I did not love it was because I was exhausted with the trope, which was entirely my own fault.

Identical to 50 Shades of Gray, except with a prince instead of a millionaire, less S&M, and a girl that's slightly less annoying. I'm shy to say "blatant ripoff" but it is, unless that story arc (down to the texting details, stalker, flying, fast proposals) is the story arc of this genre each different by way of cosmetic changes...
It's the only the second romance novel I've read, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I understand now why this genre is popular: you don't have to think much, you can escape and tune out like you do watching a tv show, and watching people fall in love is fun and makes you feel good. Buuuut I do worry these books (and movies) breed unrealistic expectations.
Reading this novel also taught me a lot about pain. There is so much pain in this genre! The characters have to suffer to have their happy ending, maybe that's why these books feel cathartic and satisfying. 🤔
Overall I'm glad I had the experience and tried something new. I think this is a good choice for the curious and the narrators voice is dreamy.
