I can't say that this one is as good as The Handmaid's Tale, but I felt very satisfied to have resolutions to many of the questions left in the earlier book. Read it again first is my advice.
I was sceptical about this before reading it, worried that it was just being written as the TV show was doing so well. I actually loved it and would have given it five stars however as I found with the first one, it ends too quickly in the space of a chapter.

Some of us take women's rights for granted. I know I once did because I NEVER imagined we could regress so drastically and go back in time!!! but unfortunately, as Margaret portrays in her novels, it IS possible.
As a Canadian women reading the news about what's happening to our neighbours, I had to read The Handmaid’s Tale (which is by the way BANNED in 32 states in the US) and The Testaments to understand how authoritarianism takes place. These books are ESSENTIAL.
History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.
