Nice book, but I think it worked better as tweets.

Now there were quite a few hahaha's, but also some OK, this is it?'s and even some Ugh, lame.'s. Some I didn't even think as being British, but just something that everyone has a problem with, or can happen to anyone.

The book is separated in several chapters of various subjects. From office, to bars, to weather. We have chapters with an endless barrage of matching tweets, and chapters with some normal silly stuff.

My favourite parts would be the non-tweet stuff. Like what types of weather, or a glossary of British words. Also the time lines (future and past) brought a big laugh on my face, and I loved the fact that Rolling Stones was mentioned in the future time line.

There were also a few illustrations here and there, and I like that they were added as they gave the book something extra, and made it a bit more fun.

But yeah, the book was fun, and I definitely liked reading it, and also reading some stuff aloud to my boyfriend (who also had a few laughs), but I will stick to my point that it worked better online/as tweets.

A great loo book that makes you chuckle (steady now!) at the everyday things we all do.

My MIL bought me this book two years ago when I met my British boyfriend (now husband) and I've only just gotten round to reading it now.

To be honest I found this tiresome and tedious. Like in many things, I find the whole "socially awkward" thing off-putting and not at all endearing so a book that focuses on it almost entirely was very tiresome. I understand it's a caricature but I could only take so much. I was skimming toward the end.

It's very much a try-hard of a book but given that the twitter feed exists, I think it's a wasted effort.

Another one for the donation bin I'm afraid.

Stick to Twitter

Via social media this may be occasionally amusing. As a book it is stretched to its limit while offering nothing new. Spend the money on tea.

After having lived here in the UK as an expat since February of this year, I've had enough interactions and observations of the Brits to recognise just how true many of these moments are! Also, I can now take note of how many of these "British Problems" are now becoming my own problems. This book has now enlightened me so I see now I've used many a phrase that mean the complete opposite of what I meant when speaking to British people and will need to take more care when telling people something sounds interesting, how I don't mind and how I much I'd love to 'pop round' or meet up sometime... Very funny, highly recommended.

Funny, but lots of jokes return in a different format. Basically the books is build around 10 to 20 'template jokes' and simply throws in lots of variations on those (but those basic ones are very funny indeed *snigger*)
