Quirky, funny and full of references to many aspects of fandom I thoroughly enjoyed this volume of Mockingbird. I really wish Marvel hadn't canceled it. I've enjoyed Bobbi's self-assured problem solving and down-to-earth attitude. I wish there were more comics out there like this one.

I enjoyed Vol 2 of Mockingbird; however I did not like how the second have switched to an Avengers story where she was not the main focus.  I wanted more of just her.  That said, chp 6-8 were enjoyable, fun, and mysterious.  Bobbi is a fun character and attracts some oddballs.

this was so damn good and i am so sad that it was cancelled. i hope it somehow finds a butt ton of new readers with the release of the Trade and Marvel realizes that we want female led comics.

This was fun! I liked the first volume better, but this was enjoyable and goofy. (Mer-corgies!) Unfortunately, only the first half is Mockingbird. Then it was cancelled, which is so disappointing. So the rest of the book is an Avengers arc that gives some backstory to Mockingbird, but it isn't the same team at all, and it's... not so good. Honestly, I think it's just included to fill out the trade. I would recommend getting Vol 1 and 2 at once and reading the Mockingbird ones straight through, and skipping the rest of Vol 2.

I absolutely love how much of a badass Bobbi is, and how humorous these books were. I liked this second book a lot as well, but found some of this book a bit confusing- likely due to my lack of Marvel Universe knowledge.

I'm gonna put the star rating at the end, so you can read this if you're interested in finding out what I thought in star terms.

This is not the book for me. It very well may be the book for someone else, but it's not for me.

It's a silly book. The cover (and dumb controversy surrounding the cover, and dumb people tweeting mean shit to Chelsea Cain) would probably lead you to believe that it's a very serious book. But...look, mer-corgis play a role. That means a mermaid where the top half is a corgi, bottom half is a fish. These come out of nowhere, totally unexplained, and nobody in the story says, "Um, what the fuck?"

I like some silly shit. This is just not my particular flavor of silly shit. It might be yours, and that's cool. I think it's tough to be objectively wrong when it comes to liking something silly.

It's pretty tough to write silly shit that a few people like, and I think it's REALLY tough to write silly shit that a lot of people like. Everyone's got a different threshold and interest level in silliness. It's gotta be one of the more specific, narrow targets to hit. This is probably why people in good relationships are often silly with each other in ways they aren't normally. Goofy voices, inside jokes, all the crap that a person might hate normally, you'll sometimes see it come out in their close relationships. And I think a big part of this is that A) people feel comfortable being silly with people they know and B) people find themselves attracted to people who share an idea of silliness.

Is silliness the ultimate in intimacy? Probably not. We've still got lots of butt stuff we can do. But silliness is totally up there.

Anyway, this book is like a 2-star for me. If I went out on a date with this book, I'd be feeling like it was nice and all, but I don't think I'd feel like we were ever going to get to the level of total silliness together. We just didn't connect like that.

Three stars because only half of this volume was Mockingbird and I definitely wanted more from this kick-ass woman. From reading other reviews, it looks like this reboot has already run its course which is too bad. I didn’t read the New Avengers issues that were included but a quick scan did show that Mockingbird was in the storyline. Sorry to see this series end already.

This just didn't do anything for me. I am not a fan of overly humorous comics. It just seemed too forced. It tried too hard. Why does Marvel feel the need to throw humor into their books whenever it can?
