Mockingbird, Vol. 2: My Feminist Agenda by Chelsea Cain

The whole cruise ship thing was odd and short and annoyingly tied in to Civil War. And then there's a couple semi-random issues of New Avengers tacked on to the end to make this long enough. Mockingbird had an awesome first volume and deserved better than this.

There are mercorgis (mermaid-corgis). What more can I say? Delightful from start to finish.

I loved Chelsea Cain's portrayal of Mockingbird /Bobbi Morse. Smart and fun, I am sad this run ended too soon.

Two stories. The first and main story was kind of a continuation. And it was goofy and fun. Basically Bobbi on a Nerd Cruise. I didn't look everyone up or anything but it was funny to see the Doubleclicks in it as themselves. The story didn't make a whole lot of sense but in a readable way. The backup story was an origin story of sorts. But it really did have any feel to it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. And it missed the element of fun.

Mockingbird is real good, but you should probably _NOT_ buy this trade as it only includes 3 actual issues (since the series got cancelled before they made enough to fill a second trade). They filled up the rest of the book with an unrelated New Avengers story from some years back that vaguely includes Mockingbird in it. Just go buy those three issues on Comixology or something and save your money.

real talk: the cover's the best thing about this book

it's not a bad book! it's just the cover's great and the book never makes it past okay

also only half the volume is actually about this run of mockingbird, the rest are random backstory chapters pulled from issues of the new avengers

A funny and fun read. I'm sad to see the end of this series.
