Honestly, it was a good book but it was kind of a slow read to get into until you get further in the book. There are a lot of twists and turns throughout the book that keep it interesting, but everything seems so slow motion. Most of everything that happens takes place during one day (one school day at that) and I just kept reading wondering how all this was happening in such a short time span. Not a bad book but definitely not her best, but I may be prejudiced as I finished the “One of Us Is Lying” series right before.

You’ll Be the Death of Me by Karen M. McManus was an interesting read. The story was told from multiple perspectives which helps the reader stay engaged. I liked getting to know more about the characters separately rather than just focusing on one. This book has a strong plot but I don’t think it was executed well. While the book was interesting I did find myself getting bored at times. There wasn’t enough suspense or thrilling points to keep me fully interested in the outcome. I also wasn’t too surprised with the ‘twist’ ending. I’m not sure if I had too high of expectations but I can see others really enjoying this book.
If you haven’t read it, I also recommend “The Cousins” by Karen M. McManus which was a 5 star from me.

Classic Karen McManus book: mystery-romance, varied characters, complex and fascinating plot
Another great book from Karen McManus!
When old friends Ivy, Mateo and Cal decide to skip school for a day they don't expect to be involved in a murder case but it goes from bad to worse as the day goes by.
This book is full of secrets and twists and you can't trust anyone when trying to figure out who killed Boney Mahoney and why. I loved the characters and how each piece of the puzzle is slowly put together to reveal what happened.
A fast paced book perfect for fans of YA mystery!

I love Karen M. McManus. That's really all there is to say about this. I really enjoyed this one a lot about as much as One of Us Is Lying. I would definitely rank this higher than Two Can Keep a Secret and The Cousins.
I loved the Ferris Bueller vibe and really enjoyed the characters. Ivy and Mateo were really sweet and I was definitely rooting for them the whole time. Cal was ok....I liked him in the beginning but then it sort of felt like his character wasn't fully fleshed out. I don't want to get into spoilers but basically his whole plot point felt like the author didn't want to commit.
Overall, this was a fun read and a great book to end the year with. I look forward to more books from McManus

I am such a fan of this author that I bought this book and started it as soon as it came out, but I really just did not connect with this book. I didn't like the characters and the ending was not my favorite. I read an excerpt of the author's next book and was thrilled to be immediately sucked in, I think this book was just not for me.

This book was fun until the climax, when one of the suspects started to explain their side of the story for no reason lol.
I cared way more about the non-mystery aspects than the actual mystery itself!
