This book was a bit of a slow starter, and to be honest for the first 30% or so I had no idea where it was going.
But then the MC's began their quest and things began to pick up! We have a secretive but fierce and loyal FMC, a mysterious and brooding MMC, a cursed kingdom, a power-hungry king, dark creatures and woods, a world without sunlight due to fallen gods, interesting myths, and an achingly sweet slow-burn forbidden romance with so much chemistry and yearning! 'All of our jagged pieces might not fit together perfectly, but what a beautiful, disastrous mosaic we made.
Honestly, the romantic aspect of this story took my breath away, even if the overall plot left me a little wanting and in desperate need for the next book!

i love a strong female main character but when she starts off giving pick me vibes, if she fails... thats on her, we get it being a giorly giorl is the worst thing imaginable😭 im gagged like even the girl horse hated her "girly" name BTCH?!?!?! 😭😭 ITS A HORSEsdjpaejfoqpwh@$!&#%!@)%~)
there was such a lack of world building, majority of the book was an obsession of scars that the main characters both have that by the end it just was such a lame gimmick that just made me uncomfortable it gave such a "omg i have always been ridiculed over these scars but THEY love them<33333", the INSTANT obsession and "love" the main dude has for her it was like from one page to the next and i just feel like they did NAWT click at at 😭 tension was in the negative

I had enjoyed this book when it was getting towards the end. In the beginning the pacing was kind of slow but as it hit that fifty percent mark it really got into the story. I really enjoyed Keira and Jude and their relationship. As well as the rest of the characters. I could definitely see the found family trope shining through. The climax was great as well. It had a lot of action and I was surprised more than once. Overall, if you are looking for a romance a little like Reylo, I would say this book would be good.
