This wasn’t for me. I like dark, possessive, unhinged stories but for me this one took too long with the texting and chatting. And then Cas, we never really get more than surface level with him and he’s not the right kind of unhinged for me I guess. And will, I liked him to start out with but I will never like a guy who will drop friends, people they really care about (or say they do), for another guy. I don’t want to give spoilers away but in the end, there was one character I found the most likable, loyal, character and he got the very worst outcome and no loyalty back. It was well written. I see why people seem to really like it, in the end, it wasn’t for me. I think if I had been more endeared to Cas, then maybe I’d feel different. There are some spicy scenes but they were brushed over pretty quickly, not a lot of details and at times it felt more like it was being read off to me instead of me being able to immerse myself in it.

This book was WILD and I mean that in the best way possible.
This is not your typical romance, if it can even be categorized as that at all. This is obsessive, suspenseful, tense, and absolutely not “sweet” at all. At least, not in the conventional way. 🐝
I want to talk about this book in detail, because it was so interesting and exciting, but I 200% think that the less you know about it, the better. I will say, check the triggers for sure, though. This book gets very dark.
For me, the book started off VERY strong, but lost steam around 60-70%. The ending was still exciting, just felt a little more rushed and less focused on having a suspenseful plot than the beginning. Despite that, the book was still 5⭐️ just for how unique and gripping it was.
If you like dark romance, it’s a must-read.

The best word to describe this book is riveting. I wasn't sure how things would go until the very end and that kept me enthralled in this story. Cas is looking to finally put himself out there and start dating again. His exboyfriend was killed so it's taken him some time plus he is very guarded. When he starts chatting with a guy anonymously on a dating app things go slow but Cas finds himself thinking of the stranger often. As they chat more things get very heated but also complicated. Cas finds out who the stranger he's chatting with is and it messes with his carefully crafted plan. Will is a romantic and looking for more than a quick hookup. When he starts talking to a stranger online that is actually a gentlemen he becomes smitten. He likes where things are going with his online crush but he also has a crush on another guy in real life. Will is faced with many options and when he finally meets the stranger from the app things fall into place. That is until people start going missing and found dead. Wow what a wild rollercoaster of a story. This book had me perplexed and so intrigued. Both Will and Cas are walking red flags that should definitely not be together but they just happen to be exactly what the other person needs. Cas is so mysterious and secretive which inevitably makes the reader very curious about him. His true identity is oh so slowly revealed but we still don't know what his next move will be. He kept me guessing so much that I couldn't help but want to know more about him. Will was such a wildcard. He was both sweet and unhinged. He found himself in a bit of a conundrum and most would say he didn't do the right thing but it just made sense for him. This story was so dynamic, thrilling, suspenseful, and unpredictable and I really loved reading it. I would highly recommend it for those who enjoy a serial killer MMC, crazy toxic relationship, way over the top possessiveness, stalking. hidden identity, wicked spice, and a twisty plot.
I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
Tbh, this wasn't as intense or as insidious as i thought it was going to be. Lots and lots of sexy times, with soft thrills and a serial killer bae, but without the energy of investigative drama or a super bloody walk on the dark side. The bees were fascinating though, and Cas' artisanal honey pots did make me...look at the honey in my pantry twice...organic from costco bless. But I wasn't a fan of Will, and i very much felt sorry for Jesse. And even though i knew it was going to end like it did, i still felt sad for my guy.
This was mostly sex with a smattering of sinister, and while i can appreciate all the fking, i prefer my murder husbands being killer creeps with a bit more plot to bite into.
