I love this author and she’s so good but the third act break ups and cliff hangers are hard on me I know to expect it with her but I have to prepare myself for it.

Trying to keep my thoughts short, as plenty of readers already explained why they liked My Soul to Keep, I've read truly engaging reviews that made me pick up this one a while back, but being a moody reader, I've only just read it recently.
Anyways... This was a nice story, small town girl falls for music rockstar prodigy, some welcomed angst coming in pair with fame.

I've been a little annoyed with the heroine stubbornness and the hero juvenile streak at times but overall I enjoyed the chemistry between these two.
If you like alpha males, Rhyson should be just up your alley. Sweet and caring but downright pushy and possessive. He reminded me a lot of "The Lord of the Manor - Jesse Ward", from This Man trilogy, in that aspect.

All in all a nice read, yes it was predictable but I let myself enjoying the tale, I wasn't expecting the last twist from the sneak peak chapter, and fortunately I've had book 2 on hand and didn't have to suffer from the cliffhanger...

Sometimes a book just comes along and makes your heart feel ALL of the things and you just know it's gonna be engraved there forever. This is one of those books and I cannot believe that it didn't come across my radar sooner.
The simmering sexual tension between Rhyson and Kai as they try to remain "friends" was literally killing me, in the best way. I just kept waiting for the tension to break but at the same time hoping that it wouldn't because it just made the connection between them that much stronger and gave me no option but to feel it to the very fiber of my bones. I am almost getting chills just thinking about it. Rhys and Kai are easily one of my all-time favorite couples!
I can't wait to see where things go in the next book, which in starting right now because I simply cannot wait.

I have been meaning to start this series since meeting Rhyson and Kai in the Grip series. I wish I hadn't waited so long! It was amazing to finally know their story from the very beginning. The duet narration of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross worked so well in this emotional slow burn romance. Listeners/readers should note that this is book 1, but all books in the series are currently available.

Kai and Rhyson have an instant connection, but I loved that Kai stayed true to herself and kept Rhyson in the friend zone, despite his clear desire for more. It allowed them to truly get to know the other beyond their physical attraction and connect on a much deeper level. Their relationship grows organically, even though Rhyson is a huge celebrity, and made for some major fireworks once things come to a boil. Yes, there is a lot of push and pull, and there were definitely times when I was frustrated by both of them, but the story flowed well and felt perfect for our characters. It was fun to see Marlon/Grip and Bristol make appearances as well, though I'm glad I met them first, otherwise I may not have been so enthusiastic to read the Grip series! LOL

Though I love both narrators, Kai Kennicott truly gives an incredible performance. She captured all of Kai's pain, fire, strength, anger, and joy so perfectly. I can't wait to start the next book!

I LOVED this book! Words cannot describe how much I LOVED Rhyson!!! I seriously wish emojis worked on Goodreads because it can do a better job at explaining my feelings and showing you exactly how I felt about this book. Ugh, this book. Tears never stopped. A lot were happy tears (in a way). Kennedy has such a gorgeous writing style and the background Kai comes from just brought tears to my eyes multiple times. Just the way it was told and what certain characters would do, it was just a constant flow of tears! I don't want to give too much away from the plot and spoil anything which is why that sounds extremely vague, but once they start occuring, you'll know what I'm talking about. Seriously. Kennedy's writing is gorgeous and I'm beyond excited to read more from her. She's definitely working in to one of my favorite authors because of her writing. I loved the characters she created, especially our 2 main characters. Now, the ending, that could go another way... I still don't like what happened in the end. Just to be warned for those that haven't read this, it does have a pretty big cliffhanger, but know that the sequel releases at the end of the month so not much waiting time. It's one of those that you just have to know IMMEDIATELY what happened and figure out how they will get through it because obviously they will right? If not, that's cool. I'll take Rhys. ;)
I'm going to gush again- I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. EVERY. DANG. MINUTE. WAS. BEAUTIFUL!
I will be posting a full length review in the weeks that follow so be on the lookout for that!

What an amazing introduction to these characters. I read this book will over a year ago for the first time and was immediately drawn to the writing style of Kennedy. This way the first couple of here's that I ever read, and their story sucked me in. Kai is such a headstrong woman and Rhyson is an enigma that you just want to figure out.

rhys & kai are so freaking cute

Oh why has it taken me so long to read this book!! I am so happy that I listened to it as an audiobook because it gave a completely different take on how I saw the characters in my head. I was already introduced to Rhyson & Kai from the Grip Series but this is their story and OMG is it amazing!! Rhyson and Kai are both super strong characters independently and together. Their push and pull throughout this story is gripping, raw, and so real, it felt like I was listening to friends telling their love story. I LOVED the narrators that voice the audiobook and I also LOVE the format in which they took of making it more like a play then just a book read into audio format. I can't WAIT to get to the rest of the books in the series!!

There was too much drama in this book and the characters got more annoying with each chapter. I honestly don’t care what happens to them in the next books.
