Not as disturbing as “Things have gotten worst since we last spoke” but it’s still weird, and hard to describe

There's something beautiful in how brutal and grotesque La Rocca's work is. As with "Things Have Gotten Worse Since Last We Spoke," I can't stop reading once I've started, even if it upsets me. They're a singular twisted talent. Not for the faint of heart.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Body horror, Gore, Sexual violence, Murder
Moderate: Death, Physical abuse, Torture, Toxic relationship, Blood, Schizophrenia/Psychosis , Injury/Injury detail
I'm in the minority when it comes to Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke. I fucking love that book. Needless to say, I've been extremely excited to read You've Lost a Lot of Blood since its release last year.
Unfortunately though, I left this reading experience feeling very Meh.
There's no denying that Eric LaRocca is skilled when it comes to writing horror, but I wasn't jiving with the thematic aspects of this one as much as his previous work. I feel like this was ultimately a lot weaker and left me questioning what the entire point of this book even was. Not to mention, the ending itself felt a little flimsy.

I won't lie, I feel like reading this after reading [b:Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke|57876868|Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke|Eric LaRocca|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1634173415l/57876868._SY75_.jpg|90668643] set me up for a tiny bit of failure. I loved the concept of a story within a story, but never one left me feeling whole at the end. That being said, I felt like the concepts were really well done. It's always something new and horrific with Eric LaRocca.

Felt unfinished. I really enjoyed the writing though.
