I've read a lot of negative reviews about this title; however I do not share similar views. I adored the writing style, I enjoyed the flicks between Martyr & Ambrose, to the novella. It was refreshing. I feel like Eric genuinely encaptured the mind of a serial killer throughout, the sadistic and twisted way they love. I also believed that the plot for the novella was entertaining and original.

Legitimately insane. Not sure what I just read, but I read it in two sittings and couldn’t put it down.
Interesting and kept me engaged, but honestly not what I was hoping for, and while I think it was intentional, the writing style in the novella-within-the-novella bothered me. Still read it all in a day and mostly enjoyed -- Larocca is very good at writing body horror that gets under your skin. I want to check out Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and see if I like it more.
