I just love Eric LaRoccas writing overall which is why i gave this story a 3 star instead of 2star, he has this unique way of drawing you in even though the hairs on the back of your neck are at a stance. His immediate disclaimers for my own sanity, literally leads me through doors for psychiatric help because I must continue to read on despite his disclaimers.
However, I wasn't a big fan of this story in particular, not to give too much away but I wasn't sure how a centipedes && metal mechanics tied together (maybe it went over my head cause I'm not a gamer). It also didnt really interest me like I mentioned before im not a gamer, but for someone who is iKnow they’d love this story. What I did love was the twist to the story, making me WTF that instant lol.

absolutely love this book and am completely confused by this book in pretty equal measure.
It's a novela inside a novela with poetry and recorded conversations between boyfriends who have some unusual hobbies. Are there hidden meanings? Maybe. Is it to be read without looking for hidden meanings? Maybe. Do I think you should read it? Yes! Go read it now so you can love it and be confused as well.

What’s a story you know? Something that upsets you, disturbs you. Something that hasn’t been written down. Something that you heard—that merely exists in the minds of those who have heard it.
Martyr Black and Ambrose Thorne are partners in crime, two murderous lovers killing young men, in search of purpose.
LaRocca's most recent novel, following the Tiktok fame of Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke is rather dull. It failed to shock or entice me with anything new, though the strongest part was probably the audio transcripts of the conversations between the two partners. The poems and the novella strewn throughout this work distracted more than added anything to the bigger picture. I would be lying if I didn't say I skimmed large swaths of this.
Oh well, not everything can be a hit.

It’s all vibes, a very convoluted plot but I enjoyed the ride.

Instantly, this just isn’t for me. Off the back of reading a 5 star book, I saw people saying how little sense this makes and couldn’t bring myself to be excited for it.
