This is a relatively short book. How did all the action start only at like 50% (if not 75%)? At first I was hooked. I liked the dream-like atmosphere, mistery, and vibes. But. This action thing started just before me dnf ing this. At some point (second cuarter?)i got annoyed by piranesi’s innosence. Even the action started slowly and built itself up. Then down again.. i wouldnt recommend spending your time on this. Read a spoilary discussion somewhere if you must. There are much better things out there. If there were any plot twists at all I predicted them already. Yes the 6th and 7th parts are nice. But still. Dissapointment.

I feel like this is a a pretty contradictory book. Things were over explained at some points and under explained at others. When I started this book I was honestly really confused. It took a while for me to get into this book. It seemed like I was given too much detail about structural things, but what was happening in the plot is completely in the dark. Unimportant things were clear while valuable things were not.
Despite the confusion I had, it was also somehow predictable. For a book that prides itself on being mysterious, the characters weren’t hard to read. I knew who was bad pretty early on. I don’t know how a book can posesa both of these characteristics at once, but this book did.
This very much felt like a book that you want to have a conversation about, but not exactly in a good way. It was just so strange, so it’s hard for me to summarize my feelings about this book. I feel like if I were to read this book again, I would still finish the book and wonder what I just read.

This was Great! I found myself so caught up in the mind of Piranesi. I think that the setting of the book would have been really boring if it wasn't for him. I loved seeing the world through his eyes. He showed so much compassion and empathy for others, even the birds, even if they had not been kind to him.
I did not realize going into this that it would unfold like a mystery and it was great!
I loved the ending most. It played out slow and treated him very patiently. Letting him work things out for himself. I think the author did an amazing job characterizing him. He saw the world in a way that was completely believable for a person who had not experienced any other reality. That is very impressive for a fantasy world.

This book was not what I was expecting and I’m so glad I stuck with it. I definitely feel the need to re-read it again soon so I can better process the experience. Highly recommend!!

You know that feeling you get when reading a book, the sense that usually creeps on you and whispers that you’re experiencing something you’re going to remember? Yeah, that’s what it felt like reading this.

This is a book that pulls from a lot of brilliant sources and ideas and rearranges them in new, unique, and endlessly fascinating ways. It’s a puzzle box of rewarding twists and turns that manages to be frightening in the ideas it offers but gently mysterious in its delivery of them. It’s the kind of story I loved the experience of reading, which usually correlates with books that end up becoming lasting favorites.

I will absolutely be forcing everyone I know to read this.
