This book was interesting. I enjoyed the choice of women they choose! The only issue I had was the comic strip part of it. The comics were a bit boring and just not what I'm into. The mini bios on the other hand were great.

I picked this book up at the library while perusing the women's history section. Yolen and her daughter tell the stories of 26 bad girls from history. The stories are brief and told in an engaging, conversational tone. If I have a complaint, it's that the stories were light on detail, but definitely worth a read.

Love this. Short and sweet, if stories about murderesses and scarlet women can be considered sweet to anyone but me.

I would've loved for each chapter to be longer, because I was enjoying hearing details about the women. But I look at these as research topics, because I now want to read more about each and every one.

Other than Ann Boleyn. I've definitely done more than my fair share of Tudor research.

Enjoyable depictions of the various women, but the author conversations after each story are a bit too "precious" for my taste.

Yeah this one really was not my cup of tea, I kinda wanted more information and the little comics about authors did not do it for me at all.

I think I would have liked this one better and actually finished it if I had skipped the comic strip commentary. What's with all the shoe references? Seemed more like an inside joke run amuk.

With a fun tongue-in-cheek tone and lovely illustrations, Bad Girls makes for a short and sweet introduction to many of history's bad women.  From Jezebel and Delilah to Bonnie Parker and Lizzie Borden, Yolen and Stemple give a brief overview of many women from different cultures and just what made them so bad.  Was it they themselves, or was it the way that society has constructed their stories?

Between each woman is a short comic depicting our two authors discussing the pros and cons of each woman, asking the reader to consider their own perspective and give their own judgement to each subject.  Evil, or not?

Each woman is well-cited and the tone is pretty conversational--perfect for getting and holding attention.  Overall, a nice, quick read that might make readers want to learn more!

Fun! Couldn't put it down. Loved reading familiar & new stories written for YA audiences, and the intro full page illustrations of each "bad girl" are amazing!
