Idk. It’s a great story, but I’m not following along with the audio book well. I think I need to read the actual book.

This is a really cool book with lots of off-center characters and an off-center plot (or two or three) snaking through it. The last 20 or 30 pages didn't hold up as well as the rest (it seemed a bit rushed to me) but this is definitely one of the best books that I've read this year.

Not a book I probably would have picked out for myself, but it was part of a "social distancing" pack of books I received. It took me a while to get into this book. Not sure if that is a sign of my overall mood or something to do with the narrative. Once I started to relate to the characters, I really enjoyed it. The author really weaves comedy in unexpected ways through some of the more serious situations. In some ways it reminded me of the movie "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou" (but that was based on another classic, wasn't it?) the characters were outlandish, almost caricatures, but still had enough of the human truth running through them to be believable.
