Enquête glauque et beaucoup de tensions avec ce meurtrier très malin qui m'a passionné du début à la fin (surtout j'ai adoré en apprendre plus sur l'histoire de ce futur où les armes à feu sont considérées comme désuètes ...)

Gloomy investigation and a lot of tension with this very clever murderer who fascinated me from beginning to end (especially I love learning more about the history of this future where firearms are considered obsolete ...)

I absolutely loved this book and it instantly become another one of my favourites. Creation in Death is definitely /not the best/ In Death book in the series so far but is defintely hovering around that top spot.
The novel explores Eve and her team hunting down a serial killer whom the media dubbed 'The Groom' - 9 years ago. The killer seems to have resurfaced to finish what he started - painfully torturing women for prolonged periods of time, carving into their torsos the time it took them to die. On the third finger of their left hand is placed a silver ring. This time, however, the killings become a whole hell of a lot more personal with all the victims being employees of Roarke.
'The Groom' case was an extremely good one for bringing out some variety with how characters react and interact with each other - most particularly the strain it caused between Eve and Feeney. I enjoyed the fact that Roarke got a more hands on approach with this case - being involved every step of the way - and got more of a feel of how cops operate during high-profile/intense cases.
The fast pace of the narrative was a very nice additition, helping reflect the speed the killer ets through his victims as well as highlighting the non-stop buzz within the team as the tried to hunt him down. It would have been extremely interesting to see if Robb was abale to incorporate more twists but the plot worked regardless.
I absolutely loved 'The Groom's' last victim, Ariel. She was brilliant in trying to prolong her life and her interaction/connection with Eve was something that made me smile. I'd love to see her in a future novel even if only mentioned in passing.
In the future of the series, I hope we get to see Eve in a little bit more danger, and by that I mean, where Eve is put into a position where Roarke, Feeney, Peadbody etc have to work hard to get her back. Physically make a /huge/ effort. An effort that may last a few days where we get to see the strain it places on everyone involved. I don't want the team to already be legging it towards the place Eve is being help minutes after she's been captured. Other than that, this was a well written book, with another cracking case and more brilliant characterisation.

Possibly my favorite In Death novel
Creation in Death is the story of "The Groom," a torture killer of surprising maturity and sophistication. The story and the emphasis put on the team needed to track him down makes this a fantastic ensemble piece. All of my favorite characters get fairly lengthy appearances and the humor (however dark) is a nice balance with the shock factor of the murders. It also does a really good job of humanizing the victims, which are often more dummy than person in so many books with serial killers.

This is a Romantic Suspense novel, it may be considered Mystery/Thriller also. Eve Dallas is a Lieutenant with the NYPSD. Roarke is her husband and a business man. I always look forward to reading these stories because the characters have turned in to good friends that you can't wait to go back and visit. They are well developed and very real. The relationship between Eve and Roarke has a definite impact on the story because the killer has come back around to where it all began and has a certain affinity for Roarke this time around. I really enjoyed Eve in Creation in Death, not that I don't in other books of the series. This case took her back to when she first started on patrol and made her deal with the fact that this one got away before. She also has to deal with Feeney who was #1 on the case back then.
I've never read anything quite like this. It's a "Cop Thriller" with a futuristic setting. It is different enough from others in the genre that I was pulled in and wanted to see what it was about. One of my favorite parts of the story was when Eve confronted Feeney about his guilt over not closing the case years ago. It was an example of how close Eve is with her co-workers and sometimes she doesn't even realize it.
The writing is well thought out. I liked how the story flowed. Emotions were high in Creation in Death so some I reread just to grasp the full effect of the writing. Creation in Death was a page turner. I didn't like when I had to put it down for other things. I love this series and will continue for sure. I have recommended this series in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Wow, this one had a great case. This one had both Eve & Roarke going non-stop. Pretty great ending too.
This book was a wild ride. When a serial killer from Dallas's past starts killing again it is a race against the clock to find the killer. You could feel the desperation just rolling off everyone in this book. Even the unflappable Roarke is harried and overworked trying to catching this psycho. I wish we saw a bit more Peabody and her humor, but there were no laugh breaks in this book, no sarcastic exchanges, just push and drive and a manhunt. I loved the fast paced atmosphere and how they were looking at past and present crimes to string everything together. I loved the ending and how dramatic it was; keeping you on the edge of your seat. I love this series more and more.
The humour, the wit, the emotions and the characters who make me feel at home after so many books.
Tho the way roarke just knows everything about everything is unrealistic but he a book boyfriend so what 😗

Another amazing book with one of my favorite couples...Eve and Roarke! Not to mention the amazing side crew!!
Eve and Feeney have a little spat in this book. I say little but it messed both of them up for a bit. I'm waiting for the book when they finally admit that he looks at him as a father figure and he looks at her as a daughter. Same with Mira. I love her and Eve's interaction. They definitely have a mother/daughter relationship.
Roarke play a huge part in this book which I loved. When he's involved more in the cases they just seem to add something.
I just can't get enough of this series!! Love it!
