Creation in Death pits Lt Eve Dallas against a killer that she faced as a green detective. Nine years ago (in the story line), Eve and Feeney were partners and called to the scene of a murder. The woman was young and had been severely tortured. This led them on a chase of a killer that would escape them. He then just stopped and disappeared. Now he is back and wants to face Eve again. But this time Eve is very different, she's no longer that green detective. Both her and Feeney want to catch this killer that got away.

The main character seemed abrasive and unrelatable to me. The plot was interesting, though.
I haven't read any of the other books in this series, so I might have enjoyed it more if I was familiar with the characters. I got the audio book at the library book sale for $1, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I think this is the series' first cold case resurfacing. It was kinda fun to read but the solution came to quickly. There wasn't any of the usual desperation or blocked theories.
i love j.d. robb books, but this one just didn't do it for me. i don't think there was enough action. most of the time there was just 'drone' work. it took me twice as long as normal to read. hopefully her next one is better.
When I need a book to pull me out of a slump I always go back to Eve and Roarke. I never get tired of these two and everyone else in these books. They are like going home for me and just what I need
This was the first novel where I started to struggle with the case storylines...just seem as repetitive as all other novels in this genre...BUT the characters have become so endearing.
