An extremely difficult case for Eve and Feeney, with a killer that managed to evade them years ago returning to the city and a race against time to catch him before he kills his next victim.
Roarke works this case with them from beginning to end and gains new appreciation for what Eve really goes through every time.

A very demanding case that runs Eve and her team to the ground before its satisfying conclusion.

This book was a wild ride. When a serial killer from Dallas's past starts killing again it is a race against the clock to find the killer. You could feel the desperation just rolling off everyone in this book. Even the unflappable Roarke is harried and overworked trying to catching this psycho. I wish we saw a bit more Peabody and her humor, but there were no laugh breaks in this book, no sarcastic exchanges, just push and drive and a manhunt. I loved the fast paced atmosphere and how they were looking at past and present crimes to string everything together. I loved the ending and how dramatic it was; keeping you on the edge of your seat. I love this series more and more.
Creation is a grizzly look into the twisted mind of a serial killer. It remains one of my favourites of the series. I am the first to complain about Roarke leaping into every investigation whether he is welcome or not. In Creation we get to follow Roarke as he works side by side with the geek squad to hunt down the killer. It is an interesting perspective and unique IMO for the series. One of Groom's victims, Ariel is a refreshing kick a$$ character and lightens what would be a very dark book.
The star as usual is Eve Dallas, but the pleasure for the reader is watching the hunter pitting herself against another hunter in the Groom. Good read.

Oh, I didn't rate this. Oh well, another Eve Dallas cop thriller. Sometimes you just need to scratch the itch.
A dead, naked brunette woman is found artfully arranged in the park. She was tortured into death and a series of numbers are written on her chest and there is a wedding ring on her hand. It immediately triggers a memory in many, the Groom is back. Nine years ago he held New York in a state of terror as he killed a series of women over two weeks. But then he stopped and was presumed dead until he turned up again overseas killing for two weeks, taking a break, and then turning up elsewhere. But now he's back and determined to end his series with the ultimate kill -- Eve.
I liked the book because it was fun, fast, and just enough sci-fi to be plausible, but the plot painfully predictable (or at least for me it was). I knew where the story was going from the beginning. It seems that this is a perfect book for vacation or weekend read.

Loved rereading this book, it was interesting and intriguing, and my mom had a copy to read. Yep.

This was a tough one to read because of the brutality of the killer. We got to read chapters of his thoughts and also his time with his victims. Of course, once Eve was on the case, it was only a matter of time before he was caught. Eve and Feaney’s relationship is put to the test which is always a little heartbreaking. Overall, another great one from J.D. Robb.
