The saving grace of this manga is the characters. They are lovely. Kitagawa is a sweet and thoughtful girl who pays attention and listens to Gojo. She takes the time to get to know him, remembers all the little details about himself that he’s told her, and is genuinely concerned for him in times of distress. Their interactions and relationship is very sweet, when he isn’t stammering seventeen times in the same sentence.

However, I could seriously do without the insane amount of fan service plaguing this series. I do not understand how it is possible that a female author wrote this book. The convention scene was a complete train wreck. An overheated, sweaty woman on the verge of passing out is not hot. The focus should have been on taking care of her and getting her help, instead of turning her situation into an excuse to display her body. The scene was incredibly uncomfortable to read through, so that alone takes this volume down another star.

Wakana Gojou keeps to himself till he unintentionally puts himself into Marin Kitagawa's path. Finding that he can sew she ropes him into making a cosplay costume for her to wear to events. Raised to make traditional dolls has made him have a gift for details and skilled with making clothes comes naturally. Together they find an unlikely friendship bonding over the art of cosplay which is only just the beginning.

My bestie picked out this series for us to read together I didn't know anything about it before we started it but quickly turned into a fan. I love the story it's sweet each installment is loaded with new characters and new cosplay adventures. It's a very addicting series I ended up reading three volumes in a row only stopping to have to do real life stuff. My Dress-Up Darling is an adorable story with cute art. I loved every moment. Can't wait to finish the series and watch the anime next.

This series is extremely endearing, I am loving watching this pairs feelings grow for each other, and seeing the sweet ways they are supporting one another.

As someone who has cosplayed, it is also a lot of fun to see this exploration of cosplaying.

Seriously, too much fanservice, I'm starting to read it half-heartedly. But I'm just really interested in their relationship, and that's what's keeping me here! And I adore the art so much! And I love that Marin is the first to have feelings for Wacchan, and not the other way around. Yup, but seinen readers will really adore this.
