Took some time but absolutely Took so much away from what was said in the book !Also really enjoyed how it was written with the question Segments inbetween
This might be one of the best non-fiction/self-help books I've ever read. It is simple, succinct and to the point. But my favorite aspect was the list of questions at the end of each chapter that started trains of thought towards practical action. I already feel the results of putting some of the advice to practice. So, I highly recommend it.
Anne Bogel gives a lot of advise regarding overthinking and how to overcome it. She offers the reader multiple questions each chapter, which I really liked.
Just buy the flowers! Don't Overthink It really helped me see how much I've been suffering from indecision and have been hindered by it. Anne Bogel breaks it down in an understandable way and offers so many practical tips on how to overcome overthinking. A great read if you struggle with anxiety. Also, check out Anne's website - Modern Mrs. Darcy - if you need recommendations on books and how to live your best reading life.
This reminded me very much of The Lazy Genius Way. Similar principles with some differences. Both are worth reading. Bogel's book focuses a bit more on the anxiety we feel when making decisions and how to mitigate that. The Lazy Genius principles of "Decide Once" and "Name What Matters" can be incorporated here and both certainly discuss value systems and remind us that there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to decision making.
Bogel's book was comforting in that I realized I'm not alone in my overthinking and I don't need to stay stuck there (there is a way out!). From whether or not to buy those flowers to figuring out if you say yes to that commitment, Bogel is a gentle companion helping to guide us so we don't live our lives with FOMO or coming up against decision fatigue day in and day out. Nothing earth-shattering in here, and some repetition from other books I've read, but I like these reminders and hearing the slight differences in how principles are applied. A short read/listen (I listened to the audiobook) and worth your time for sure.

I just wasn’t feeling it, and I had another book come in at the library that was going to require more of my attention. Nothing really against this book.
I am an overthinker, and this book gave me many new tools to overcome this tendency. Anne is a great writer. So easy and fun to read.
This is definitely a book I will refer to again when I am feeling stuck. And I will buy the flowers!
