I think this is the book where Horowitz finally comes into his own with this series. The suspense here is EXCELLENT and this was the point in the story where I started sneaking the book under my desk during classes so I wouldn't have to stop reading.
Nice portrayal of the CIA! A group of people that are "a little full of themselves and not ready to cooperate with anyone else so let's just "borrow" this agent while they're not looking okay" - sure, I actually have no idea what the CIA are like but that seems pretty good to me. They sound American at least.

This series just gets better and better! It also seems to be becoming slightly darker as the main character gets older. Themes of the destructiveness of communism and the importance of family are very prominent in this particular story, not to mention the tons of thrilling action Alex Rider is famous for :) A great read for 11-14 year old age range!
