I liked this one and all the Gatsby tie ins. I thought the author did a decent job retelling the original but it didn’t feel like a true modern retelling, more like just based on Gatsby with freedom to change things around. Ultimately I got a little bored and I went back and forth on how I felt about having Juliana’s point of view. Half of the magic of the original is not having that. But it did allow us to get a deeper look at the extent of her fraud.

Finally, only one death in the end kind of takes away from the tragedy of the whole thing.

Easy breezy summer beach read. Somewhat filled the gap that EH left since no ACK novel from her this summer. MMM doesn’t characterize BI the way EH does with ACK. Things always work out for rich people. Nicola seemed random to be the protagonist.
