Back in the world if Lyrian and having a much better time!

This book was great! It was a lot more up my alley than the first book. After the first book I wasn't sure if I was going to continue on with this series, but I'm glad I did!! Jason made his way back to Lyrian, obviously, and right if the bat he's having some crazy stuff happen to him.

We meet a couple new characters early and that was great because they were awesome! Especially Aram. I've never come across a race of Giants done quite like this before and I super appreciated it. I love when an old idea gets flipped on its head to surprise you in new and wonderful ways.

Then we meet up with Farrin again. Farrin is great. He's gotta be my favorite character easily in these books. His ambiguity is stressful, but also ingeniously written. There were some moments with Farrin where I was questioning myself about the story, but also in my own personal life and how I approach certain things. He makes the book great for me. It helps that the Displacers are another incredible fantastical creature that I love. The fact that they can take parts of there body off and put it back together is unique and creates a wide variety of things they could do.

The middle of this book dragged a little bit for me, but don't worry, it wasn't for long. And then we got to the ending which was very well done. Although the way it ended was a tad bit jarring, I still felt like it did a good job of setting up where book three is gonna go.

I had a great time with this one. And if you like fantasy I think you will too. Sure, it's clean because it's middle grade, but it is fairly dark still. And the story is well told. And the characters are spectacular. Try it. You mind end up being a fan like me.

Blind before I could see. Adventure is before me.

“A husband without a wife, a father without a son, a hero without a quest and a king without a country.”

Book one was a bit of a disappointment for me, but it was worth it when I read book 2! This book was definately interesting with all types of new ideas and new groups of people being presented. The book was fast paced (after the first several chapters), and was interesting. The characters are likable and the storyline is engaging. It definitely left me looking forward to book 3!

One of the rare times I loved the second book more than the first!

REVIEW OF Seeds of Rebellion (Beyonders #2) by Brandon Mull

SYNOPSIS (taken from Amazon)
“After the cliffhanger ending of A World Without Heroes, Jason is back in the world he’s always known—yet for all his efforts to get home, he finds himself itching to return to Lyrian. Jason knows that the shocking truth he learned from Maldor is precious information that all of his friends in Lyrian, including Rachel, need if they have any hope of surviving and defeating the evil emperor.

"Meanwhile, Rachel and the others have discovered new enemies—as well as new abilities that could turn the tide of the entire quest. And as soon as Jason succeeds in crossing over to Lyrian, he’s in more danger than ever. Once the group reunites, they strive to convince their most-needed ally to join the war and form a rebellion strong enough to triumph over Maldor. At the center of it all, Jason and Rachel realize what roles they’re meant to play—and the answers are as surprising as they are riveting."

BRIEF REVIEW
I had a hard time paying attention while I listened to this one, and I actually re-listened to the last halfish of it. Despite that, Jeremy Bob did an excellent job reading. Galloran is my favorite character, and I liked his more prominent/active role in this book. I didn’t love the prologue, but the bonus scenes at the end were a cool addition.

The first book you had to make yourself read, but this one makes up for all the inadequacies of the first.

The second book of the "Beyonders" series exceeded my expectations. At once an adventurous story filled with swashbuckling, yet at the same time delves deep into characters who are realistically complicated. A little disappointed with the zombie twist; it is one overused in today's entertainment. Nevertheless, I can't wait to start the third and final installment.

This book was long and boring
