This is a book most likely to appeal to boys 9-12 years old. Good read. Not quite as good as first book in Beyonders series.

I really liked this book. I really liked all the characters and interactions between everyone. I couldn't stop reading it. I'm intrigued as to what is going to happen next. I definitely recommend, I suggest ages 11 up.

A nice sequel to an engaging and creative first book... better engagement of those looking for strong female lead as Rachel is now given a voice in first person narrative chapters... I think it was all Jason's perspective infirst book... great light COVID reading...

Still pretty solid YA fantasy.

I really like Brandon Mull's writing. Enough action to keep it interesting, enough detail to "show" you the picture, enough weirdness to avoid bland. Very enjoyable alternate dimension saving the world story. Keeps up with book 1. I'd recommend it to fans of Potter, and do on a regular basis since I work in a middle school!

Wow! This book just reminds me all over again how much I love Brandon Mull's books! They are just fantastic! I absolutely love how real he makes each world. From all the different characters, to the diseases. (Like who would EVER think to make up lung rot?) All the different peoples and nations are just so well thought out. It all makes perfect sense! I loved the Forsaken Kingdom, very creepy and horrible, but at the same time really, really cool. And it's cool how the Seed People are kind of like the Beyonders version of elves. :)

My favorite Mull title yet.

Neat world building and interesting story. On to the next in the series.

I really enjoyed book 1, but this book was kind of boring. I wonder if this could have been a duology instead of a trilogy.
