Brandon Mull has done it again. He's written another epic fantasy that you have to love. He knows how keep readers on the edge of their seats while reading and wanting more when they're finished. This book has definitely earned five stars in my mind.

Good, as always with Mull. Very much the middle of a trilogy though. Seemed to be laying a lot of groundwork for the next installment. Also I love Ferrin okay.

Everything from my review of the first book in this series echos here in the second installment, and is amplified. The action scenes in this book are so well written. The way it is narrated you can almost hear the clangs of steel, and whooshes of wind created by the swift movements. The best villain I think ever written in this trilogy. He is devious, maniacal, clever, and downright evil. All the while being incredibly interesting. The magic system is very similar to Eragon's magic system, but is still done very well in this book with its own unique spin. The revolution is in full swing in this book and you truly feel the tension on each page.

Another fun installment in the Beyonders series from Brandon Mull!

I love the smart-ass commentary that Mull puts into these. It's almost like I am reading what my own husband and children would respond with, should they be in this book. ha ha.

I will admit, I skipped over a few pages, because there's some walking dead type of things in there, and ... well ... I just don't do well with walking dead stuff so ... I skipped it. ha ha. I am sure there is nothing too gory there or anything, as this IS a YA book, but I am a big chicken.

Brandon Mull never seems to disappoint me folks. Pick it up!

Sooooo good and original!

Long ago, I read A World Without Heroes (Beyonders, #1) and I began reading Seeds of Rebellion, but it was a lengthy tome and life got in the way and I never finished reading it. Years later I have returned to the series rereading A World Without Heroes and proceeding to read Seeds of Rebellion hoping to finish the entire series finally.

Mull is a talented writer and the Beyonders series doesn't disappoint. It's darker than Fablehaven and undoubtedly aimed at perhaps a bit older audience, but it still has all the key elements that makes Mull's writing standout. There is tremendous attention to detail, realistic characters, and a suspenseful plot.

I will say I wouldn't have minded more characterization, but with such a hearty quest at the center of the series there really just isn't room for much characterization. The plot also follows at times a predictable format, but there is some realism to the losses in this novel and in A World Without Heroes that lend more balance to the tale.

It remains a lengthy tome and one of the longer novels that I've read, but it still comes highly recommended.

I liked this second book in the series as much as the first. These are fun books, similar to Harry Potter, with the spectacular adventures in a fantastical world that's cool to imagine. However, the characters are nowhere near as interesting, and I find myself not really caring much about any of them. Still, the action and plot are exciting!

A pretty great read, but not quite as good as the first book in the Beyonders Trilogy. The story was once again brilliant, but some of the relationship building wasn't quite as well constructed with the addition of new characters. The relationships come across inconsistently as a a result. Still, this book is definitely one of the best I've read. It kept me up till 3:30 in the morning when I had to be up at 5:30 am.

Gets a little bogged down, and feels a little darker than the first one. I could’ve done without zombies.

starts off a little slow, but once all the characters meet up it's great!
