Come for the beautiful stories and songs, stay for the blooper clips. They are magnificent.
Sara breaks my heart open. What a magical human.

The only reason why I'm not giving this a full five stars is because I wish it was longer and I didn't want it to end. I could read anything that Sara wrote forever so I hope that she thinks about writing another book down the line.
In regards to this book, honest is the word that I would use to describe it. Sara shares her innermost thoughts and even some of the more painful memories that she went through in her life and I appreciate that. I felt everything she felt and that's really all you can ask for in a book.
I love that we found out bits and pieces of her life (personal and musical) that we never knew before. Her fans have long suspected that she was in a relationship with Javier (her former guitarist) and she confirms it in this. I did not know that she auditioned (and ended up eating some humble pie) for the role of Cinderella when Into the Woods was going to be on Shakespeare In the Park. It amused me that she mentions Jessie Mueller getting that role and now Jessie is starring in her musical.
Just some really great stuff here and I highly recommend it to all Sara fans.

I rated this two stars but don't get it confused, this was a really well written book, just not necessarily the book for me. I didn't think the premise of the book was to explain why she wrote her top hits and where she was at in her life so it showed a lot of the music business side of it that I just am not that interested in. I would definitely recommend to someone who might like that though!
Sara’s ability to express herself through written word is deeply moving, passionate, and inspiring. The connections she made to her songs and how they were inspired by joy, heartache, and growth gives me a deeper appreciation for her music.
