I'm a HUGE Sara Bareilles fan and after reading this made me love her even more! This book is beautiful and I am so glad I was able to get a copy.

Personal with a lot of heart to whoever reads it. Even if you're not the biggest fan of her music, if you don't have respect for Sara Bareilles, we're probably not going to be friends. Looking forward to hearing her talk about it on wednesday!
Enjoyable, but gosh that felt short. Bareilles starts each chapter—in the audiobook, anyway—with a snippet of one of her songs and then segues into a story. Much of it is pretty classic growing-up-awkward material, though each essay has its own little arc. This isn't one that's going to stick with me, but Bareilles definitely comes of as relatable and entertaining. Recommended if you're a fan of her music, but there's a fair amount of focus on that music (how her songs came to be, etc.), so I'm not sure it was the best read for someone (me) who isn't super familiar with her music.
I listened to the audiobook while in the backseat of the car. Let me tell you, it was the quickest 4 hours of traveling I've ever done. I was completely immersed in the chapters of this book and mesmerized by everything Sara said (and sang). Highly recommend this book!
I “read” this book by listening to the audio book as I followed along with a physical copy. I highly recommend that if possible because Sara narrates it herself (including singing the snippet intro to each song-titled chapter) AND because you get to see all of the images Sara includes that go along with her stories.
I love Sara Bareilles so much and I think anyone who likes her will like this. It is short and easy to read and makes you want to go back and listen to every song she’s ever put out.
The memoir is very music centered so you mostly learn about childhood stories that involve her path to where she is in the music/theatre/entertainment industry. I would have loved to get a bit more on her life outside of these things but I’m still glad to have learned what I did.
Giving this one a 4 because of that sense of wanting more as well as the hints of fat phobia throughout. Sara grew up a “fat kid” but definitely still views being fat as a bad thing, even if it’s subconscious for her.
Read and listen to this book !!

For how much I love Sara Bareilles, this sat on my TBR list for far too long! I opted to go for the audiobook version, which narrated by Sara, making it both a book and a mini concert for the reader. It was such a beautiful, tender, and enjoyable peak into her life. Would recommend for fans and anyone trying to find their way in this world.
