What’s not to love? I have always loved Sara’s music. I saw her live years ago and loved her even more after that. When I came across this book, I knew I would love listening to it. Just wished it was even longer, but thankful she wrote it!
Very entertaining! I recommended reading through and listening to the audiobook. Sara sings A cappella in it at the start of each chapter. It's a real treat.
4.5 rounded up. While there's nothing earth-shattering here, if you're interested in it I highly recommend the audio book format. Each chapter opens with a song and I enjoyed that tremendously.
I already liked her music and this book just made me wish we were friends. Lovely, feisty, quirky, but overall a fairly typical autobiography/memoir.
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Sara even sings on it! I greatly appreciated her sharing her stories and struggles with anxiety.
I did not think it was possible to love Sara more than I already did. This book is a beautiful glimpse into her life. Like her music, she is raw and honest. She is relatable and brave. I found myself connecting to parts of her story and feeling myself bursting with confidence that I am not alone.
I highly recommend not just reading, but listening to this book. Sara adds her character to the story, as well as sings a piece of each respective chapter's song.

I enjoyed this more than I expected. Lots of great quotes. Makes sense, she is such a good songwriter. A beautiful woman.
An enjoyable and quick read on Sara Bareilles' life leading to her success.
I'm glad I got it out of the library. I love Sara Bareilles's voice and music. This book had interesting stories about the songs. I read it in about an hour. Worth a read if you're into her music.
I love Sara Bareilles and this has only made me love her more. She sings before each chapter and it just shows how wonderful she is as a singer. She is such a conflicted person and passionate about things as well. She says she doesn't know what the hell she's doing and I appreciate that she's not this confident person who knows everything about the world. There were things I didn't know like the stage collapse less than 20 minutes after her own set or how she got into writing Waitress. When she talks about her body image problems and struggles with weight, it felt so heartbreaking. This was such a lovely glimpse into the way her mind works and the singing just elevated the whole memoir.
