More High Republic Star Wars! Once again, the characters shine the most in this universe so far - while I’d love to be an Ahsoka, Obi-wan or Leia, our MC Reath Silas has my heart. I, too, would just want to nose around the Jedi Archives all day, every day. Super relatable and his sense of humor was fun - and I’ll be interested to see how his ties to the Nihil come into play again later on.
I love Claudia Gray. The way she writes just gets me.
A fun adventure, really loved the characters. Great audiobook.

Easily the best book of the new High Republic series, Into the Dark really shines from beginning to end. This is everything I would expect a Claudia Gray novel to be - great pacing, in-depth characters, and lots of action to keep you interested. This reads as a standalone so if you haven’t read the earlier novels in the High Republic series, no worries. If you’re a fan of Star Wars, make sure you read this. It truly feels like a well written, classic, vintage Star Wars novel.

I always keep these reviews honest but I have to say this one I am a little bit bias because if you ask me Claudia Grey is one of the best writers for the new cannon being created for Star Wars. With that being said this is a great story.
This is book two in the new The High Republic series. This story takes place at the same time as book one (Light of the Jedi). A group of Jedi Masters and one Padawan are on their way to a new frontier outpost when the hyperspace disaster happen and they find themselves on an old abandoned space station. They soon discover and ancient lifeform that has a connection to the dark side, and the ancient Sith race. After leaving the station the Jedi realize they must go back before it is too late. Upon their return they run into the Nihil and find out what this ancient species called the Drengir are all about.
This is a fast paced, action packed story from beginning to end. It is a fun read that never lags from beginning to end. So far this new series is a good addition to the cannon of Star Wars, these would make great movies or TV shows. The Nihil are a new threat the like of which are totally new to the Star Wars universe, they are hell bent on revenge and want to end the Jedi and the Republic. As far as timelines go The High Republic takes place around 230 years before The Phantom Menace (according to the website Yodas Datapad). Even though this a YA book it is a great fun read and if want to read all the new cannon this is a must!

Leox Gyasi It seems I’ve grown quite fond of you though there are no sexual urges or desires you come to me as a long lost friend whom I once picked apples with in papa’s orchard
