I don’t know if I would put this one above Light of the Jedi. In the short time I’ve been reading again, I’ve become an entirely different reader, I feel like I still might like Light of the Jedi more but this one definitely deserved at least 4 stars.

This felt like more of a contained story that will impact the bigger picture for sure. But I truly had such a ride reading this one.

All the characters were super interesting and Geode is the goat. I loved reading for Reath every time. The High Republic does such a great job introducing new and likable characters. Reath Silas joins the club of my favorite characters in this project along with Avar Kriss and Vernestra Rowe.

May of the characters were compelling: Orla, Reath, Affie, Leox, GEODE!, Cohmac, Dez. It was interesting reading this after Light of the Jedi because I knew some plot points were coming before the characters found out. This definitely felt like an establishing story for characters who will be back, and I think it did a decent job of showing who these people are. That last bit on the station was like watching a tennis match, though, as everyone darted back and forth to accomplish various things. I *think* the Drengir are gonna show up in the High Republic comics.
