Star Wars The High Republic: Into the Dark was a lot fun! The pacing was a little slow in the beginning but found the story quickly picked up pace and became the exciting ride that I know Star Wars stories to be! This is the book I have been searching for as a massive Star Wars Fan!

4.5 rounded up.
I love that this book is smaller scale than the adult novels, but it still is important to the greater galactic conflict that was set up in Light of the Jedi. The new cast of characters has some strong standouts. Reath's reluctance to adventure was a fun frame to explore the frontier with. Affie was immediately likable and her story was enjoyable outside of the jedi focused lens. Geode is of course a wonderful and humorous addition. Claudia Gray does a great job of bringing these new characters to life and creating a story that adds to the setting while having a more narrow focus.

this book has everything:
• an emotionally repressed man
• little shop of horrors but ✨in space✨
• a rock
• everyone's new favorite relatable padawan, who would rather stay at home and read
• LGBT's
• the horrors of being sucked into the vacuum of space
• the implication that the force can be used to keep your clothes looking fresh
• a hippie
claudia gray never misses! i can't wait to see more of my son reath silas

Once again an amazing Star Wars novel By Claudia Gray.
I’ve accidentally become a HUGE fan of hers in the past year, having read all of her Star Wars books in quick succession, and I have to say this book is no exception to her greatness... As always I love her voice and storytelling, but also considering that this is a novel set within the new time period of the “high republic” this book also serves as a great companion to the first book in the series, she very easily slides this book into the timeline of the first book and really adds onto the story and gives it new depth. So I fully recommend this book for someone who wanted to see even more out of “light of the Jedi”
Also this book holds many fun callbacks for people who’ve read other Claudia novels, most notable is the appearance of the “Amaxine station” which is a callback to the amaxine characters that were featured in her book “Bloodline”
Overall this book is a great addition to the Star Wars Mythos (with many fun and interesting characters, such as Orla who I hope we see more of) as well as the new high republic line.. I hope to see more from Claudia in the future!
SIDE NOTE: Minor lesbian rep as well as major Aro/Ace rep
