This was fine. Definitely not as great as all the other Marple books.
Christie was clearly more interested in the organized crime part of the story than the murder mystery. Which, again, is fine. But not as good. And ultimately the murder has nothing to do with the other things... so, huh?
Marple isn't in this one a lot, which normally doesn't bother me much, but here it seemed like when Miss Marple was there she didn't have a clue or she didn't seem all that interested in what was going on. In the previous books she always seems so supernaturally aware of everything: every deception, who the killer is and why. Not in this one, which was a bit odd, cause I kept expecting her to make some remark, but that never happened.

Set in a posh London hotel, this book was interesting and engaging. Unusually for Agatha Christie, there is only one murder which doesn't happen until near the end. Although Miss Marple isn't a major character in this one she is still a force to be reckoned with! The descriptions of the hotel were great and there's an excellent cast of characters. I particularly liked Father!

Graphic: Death, Murder
Moderate: Violence, Kidnapping, Abandonment
Very little action until the last quarter of the book. Miss Marple was a minor character in this. It was just okay.
