An entertaining, classic Merrily Watkins mystery in short story form. Merrily is asked to exorcise a haunted house, and as usual things aren't always what they seem. Merrily gets support from Huw Owen, her spiritual director and Sophie the "keeper of the Cathedral"; and DI Frannie Bliss makes an appearance when a (possible?) haunting turns into a definite murder. There's lots of interesting back story and puzzle pieces that fit together, and reasonably well developed characters for such a short story. As with all the Merrily mysteries you never know for certain whether the answer lies in the supernatural or the mundane.

Just an FYI with regards to Youtube. You cannot post videos of "regular" people without their permission. If this happens there is a simple form that can be filled out on the Youtube site and the video will be taken down in a very timely manner.

I'm glad that I had read other books in the Merrily Watkins series before I read this novella. I felt that much of it focused on the characters who feature in the series rather than the haunting and exorcism. I wanted it to be eerie, parts of it were but there wasn't enough of them. I did however like the parts of it which took part on Facebook which were amusing and probably quite accurate.

I was disappointed when I picked this book up from the library and realised it was only a novella! However, although much shorter than the usual Merrily Watkins stories, it concentrates just on the case in question, no distractions from Gomer, Lol or Jane's doings and less of Merrily's soul searching. It is a really creepy punchy story which I liked!

Merrily Watkins find herself at the center of Facebook. Okay, she goes to help a woman who misrepresents what happens. The story is actually quite gripping. You do not need to have read other Watkins books to follow this one.

Fun to read, truly scary at some points, not remarkable, but alright! You know how you read some stuff to try it out, and it's a good book to pass the time during quarantine, but you'd give up on it if you didn't have enough time? This was it for me.
