Meh. This seemed to just be the first book all over again but with different names. it really just did not meet expectations and I will suggest only reading the first one, (which in my opinion was better ) and save time by reading something else on your TBR.

This one started pretty strong but the characters were just super annoying, namely Eros and his whole “I’m a monster” spiel. Smut was okay. I’ve read better from Katee. Then again, I listened to the audiobook and god is it cringy 😂 no shade to the narrators but I think smutty audiobooks aren’t for me.

Such an interesting take on the structure and workings of a society based on Greek mythology. More importantly, I really enjoyed Psyche and Eros as main characters. They really shined and really grew into themselves and their strengths as the book progressed.

I enjoyed this story a lot. I really appreciate that there is additional things going on outside of the romance which makes the romance progression feel less forced.
I am not a huge fan of the insta love or possessive bs that seems to be in a lot of these romances I have picked up recently.
Also I noticed she does the same weird race thing in describing people that bothered me with Delilah Green but there was much more diversity in this book. But it still sticks out as a choice that I am not fond of.
Sex was good. This book doesn’t have some of the kink elements as the first one but that’s fine.
Also lots of casual queer representation which I always love to see.

This instalove I was less on board with in the beginning, compared to the last book, but by the halfway point of the story I was rooting for them. I liked that Psyche was an expert game player compared to Persephone. What world do they live in? Is there magic of some sort? Who the fuck knows lol A thrilling romance with a good enough plot.
