This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Rachel for letting me take part in this tour and to Boldwood Books for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I've a big TBR pile full of Portia's books that I keep wanting to read so when I saw this tour I immediately signed up.

The main character in this book is Emmy. I really liked Emmy (and not just because we share the same name). She is relatable despite her TV fame. She still gets lonely and she still misses her family. This was the bit that really got me. I don't live too close to my family and sometimes that really gets to me. I really related to the thoughts that Emmy had about missing out on family get-togethers.

There were lots of characters in this book which at times was hard to keep straight who was who. I liked Emmy's mum the best from the side characters. She was so calm and composed. And she always had the best advice.

The star of this book for me was Tel. He was such a great character. I enjoyed his quick wit and charm. He has a heart of gold and is very good with his hands.

The panto was excellent. I loved hearing little scenes from this. It gave a nice injection of Christmas into this book. The story is set from around November until Christmas. It's not in your face Christmas but you can tell what time of year it is. Personally, I'm a more in your face Christmas kinda girl but I can appreciate that not everyone is. So if you like a more subtle Christmas book then this is for you.

This is an enjoyable winter read that will make you want to cosy up with a hot drink and a blanket on a cold evening.

This was okay! Didn't completely fall in love with the characters but I don't know if that's just because I thought Emmy was supposed to go back to London and fall in love with her co-star the whole time (because I read the plot wrong) LOLLLLL. So i kept waiting for her to go back to London and then I was 61% of the way through and i was like...let me reread this summary.

Was a good enough book though and I enjoyed reading it!

Emmy is a popular actress who gets killed off in her show, she retreats back to her hometown where she gets pulled into doing a local play, befriends the theater crew, spends time with her family, buys a house, and starts to get to know her next door neighbor. Her ex and old high school crush is her co-lead for the play and bets are on whether they will or won't

Fun palate cleansers between heavy books. Intro chapter describes the main character, who is an actress, shooting a love scene so I was nervous the whole book would be like that but the rest is very much PG-13. Cute love story that didn’t have a drawn out conflict.

It’s set in England so there are some phrases I had to look up to understand.

Will They, Won't They by Portia MacIntosh was a delightful read! I have enjoyed Portia's past few books, and this one was no exception. Emmy is a great main character, and her family relationships were great to read about.

I was definitely hoping for a bit more romance, but it was still good. Emmy's family was an absolute highlight, and I loved the differences between Emmy's life in London and her life in Yorkshire. The media drama was a great addition, and even though it was frustrating to read because of Emmy's innocence, it was a great look into the impact of media on celebrities.

There were a lot of support characters, which I liked. I didn't find it hard to keep track of, which can be the case in a character driven book, but Portia MacIntosh did a great job of introducing the reader to each character.
