Karpov Kinrade has done a great job, yet again, at making readers enticed and thrilled by their third novel in the Vampire Girl series - Silver Flame.
This novel keeps up an amazing pace, much like their past two books. Readers will not be disappointed with the fast moving, excellent character driven plot set up by these two incredible authors.
The wait between the novels was worth it - Karpov Kinrade brought their A game to this new release and it should not be missed by readers interested in a story that's not your typical YA/Adult fantasy novel. Ari's back and she's sassy, feisty and a strong female lead. Alliances are made, relationships will be tested, and emotions will be high!
Reading this novel is definitely a must for fantasy lovers. It'll keep you interested while making you yearn for the next novel in the series. This epic continuation of the series is by far my favorite so far, and with my high expectations that I had for it, they definitely hit them and went above and beyond!
So pick up this must read of the season! Give yourself an early Christmas gift and enjoy the beautiful realm Karpov Kinrade have created for their readers! They do not fail when they deliver!
Five out of five stars!

Life got in the way of me officially starting this book on October 31st, so it technically only took me a few nights of reading before bed to finish.
I loved this book just as I did the first 2 although admittedly there was A LOT involved in this book. It was nice to see some questions answered and see some exciting things come to pass, but I love most of all that these books always leave you guessing as to what happens next. It feels like each book is a puzzle, and every time you think you've got all the pieces in place, you realize the puzzle was actually bigger than you thought! I am very happy that we won't have to wait long for the 4th book!

She may have been an ordinary girl, but this was not an ordinary story. Another good Karpov Kinrade book. Ari is pulled into yet another conflict, this time by Levi who is the bad guy you love to hate, because he is a real ... well let's not start name calling, but he's a real pain. It's amazing how everyone keeps it together to unite against the threat that is coming to ruin them all. I can tell you that I was not expecting the end of this story, it was a shock and left me reeling.
The first chapter of this series had me rolling my eyes and ready to give up "i was born at midnight on a full moon during a storm" I MEAN COME ON! But I struggled through it and I am so glad I did!
A high fantasy masterpiece. The world building in this series was excellent. It was familiar and strange all at the same time! I loved this series. There were a few hiccups and some rushed moments that really deserved a bit more time and notice, but overall it was amazing. And even though there was a lot of blood magic in this series NO ONE EVER CUT THEIR PALM! (Unless that was specifically needed) I can't even begin to tell you how much of a pet peeve it is for me that every time anyone ever needs blood in a series they cut their palms. How? Why? The only place worse they could cut themselves is the soles of their feet! The palms have such thick skin, don't bled a hole lot AND YOU NEED TO USE YOUR HANDS so why would you injure them for just a bit of blood when you have a perfectly good arm RIGHT THERE! Okay so maybe that pisses me off more then it should but honestly it won this series a lot of points in my eyes because of it. Also casual diversity my kryptonite, so I couldn't hate this book even if I tried. The love story was a bit instaloveish and a bit forced but I could appreciate it. I don't like protagonists who spend too long complaining and wallowing about their situations because it detracts from the story but Arianna our protagonist was a little too accepting of everything that was going on. Just a tiny bit more initial resistance would have gone a long way. Some of the side characters, particularly the animals, are adorable and I have to say my absolute favourite part of this series, even better than the no-palm-cutting, is the villains!!! No one in this series was truly evil, everyone was doing what they thought was right, no one did anything purely because they were bad. They were all the heroes of their own stories even if what they were doing was wrong, they weren't BAD people. Misguided, confused, lost, desperate sure. But evil? No, I don't think so. And I love that so so much! Because it's the truth no one is purely evil, no one is the villain of their own stories and books that get that right always nail it for me.
Who I recommend this book to: anyone who loves a good fantasy world, vampires, magic, fae and complex characters with complex motivations.
I give this 5/5 roses 🌹 it wasn't perfect but it was damn good.

I love Ari & Fen but holy cow I totally didn't seen that plot twist ending coming I'm so glad I have book 4!!!
een beetje twijfelende vier sterren. Vond het einde nogal afgeravelt en alles in 20 pagina's gepropt

Silver Flame was everything I've come to expect from a Karpov Kinrade novel, especially one in the Vampire Girl world.
We started off with a teeny bit of backstory, kind of filling in the gaps between what happened at the end of Midnight Star and where we find ourselves at the beginning of Silver Flame. It's Ari filling us in and I love her "voice" as she weaves the tale for us. In this book, however, we get to experience other voices as well, and not just princes! We get another voice to read and I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I think if you enjoyed the previous two books, you'll love reading this beloved character's thoughts.
The end, as I've come to anticipate, held a cliffhanger! I happen to have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers. I love how this one has made me eager for book 4, but I hate how I have to wait until January! I have to thank the authors for being the kind who turn out a good book in a shorter amount of time than a year! (or MORE!!!) And that we don't have to wait too long to find out what happens next to Ari and the Princes.
If you enjoyed Vampire Girl and Midnight Star, you're going to love this new volume. If you've not picked up the Vampire Girl books yet and are trying to decide whether or not to read them, what are you waiting for??? It's a colorful world filled with mythology and fantasy and creatures and people that your mind and heart with devour and be yearning for more.
